Product Description

Editorial Review

Not that anyone needs one more source of electromagnetic energy around the house, but this 900 MHz, five-unit baby monitoring system is as good of a household investment--if one had to choose, for instance--as surround sound. It is surround sound in a way. Two, three-channel walkie-talkies and three, two-channel monitors in one house should insure that Baby can’t even burp without someone hearing it. Three units can be scanned at time, connecting Mom in the yard, to Dad in the kitchen, and Baby in the nursery. Each rechargeable piece can be hung from a post, hook or doorknob, and the WTs also have belt clips. The monitors serve their purpose sufficiently, but the WTs somewhat noisy between communications; parents will tire of the static between talks. Still; they’re convenient when needed; no cords or batteries are necessary; the included charger is AC-powered. --Diane Beall

5.0 out of 5 stars The Only Monitor for families with more than one child, May 20, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: 900 MHz Home Connection Monitor (Baby Product)
I looked everywhere for a monitor that could be used for two small children in two diffrent bedrooms (my children's ages are: 15 months old and newborn) and came up empty handed. I even tried purchasing two seperate monitors but that did not work, it only created alot of static. I even went as far as calling a couple of monitor manufactors and was told that the only way that I could have a baby monitor in each of my children's bedrooms would be to have an alarm company hotwire a monitor into an existing alarm system (that would cost approximately $500-$700). Then I discovered this monitor at Babies R Us. It was exactly what we needed. (It is so clear I can hear my son breathing.) For a growing family or a family with up to three small children - this is the only monitor for you!! I love it!!! I realize that this monitor is a bit pricey but what is piece of mind worth to you??? An added extra is not having to replace batteries - this monitor comes with rechargable batteries. I give this product the highest rating possible.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love it, February 12, 2005
This review is from: 900 MHz Home Connection Monitor (Baby Product)
I have no problems with this monitor. I am expecting my second child and we set it up a few weeks ago just to test it out and make sure it all works. We have been using one in my son's old room, one in the new room that we just set up, and one in our room for when he takes naps in there instead of his room. It works great in all three rooms, all three monitors work great. Both receivers works great, the volume isn't a problem at all. The only 2 downsides are, One, there is static from time to time but nothing more than I've seen in any other monitor, watch where you put it, if it's near your cell phone, cordless phone, wireless connection to your computer, etc, that could have interference. And, two, the light from the letters of each monitor on the recievers are very bright. I like my bedroom to be pitch black (I have to turn my clock upside down at night because the lights are too bright) and they can be almost like a nightlight, they are so bright. If I turn it the right way, it's not too bad and I can still hear everything and fall asleep. So, that's why I still gave it a 5.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful monitor system!, July 1, 2004
By
This review is from: 900 MHz Home Connection Monitor (Baby Product)
After the birth of my 3 month old son, we were going crazy with two seperate monitors. When the 2.5 yr old went to bed, I had to remember to turn on his monitor and turn off the baby's. When the baby went to sleep, I had to either hold him or sit right next to his room, because if I turned his monitor on, neither worked at all. Then I found this monitor system. It is wonderful!

I see some complaints about static, but we have not had any problems at all. We only have one cordless phone, and it is not on the 900mHz frequency, that might help. But in our home, it is crystal clear wherever we are in the house. We may have a moment or two of static occasionally, but it immediately clears up.

The only problem I have is that we only need 2 monitors, but I have to plug in the third unit so that I can scan the other two. But a minor issue in the whole scheme of things. Overall, I am thrilled with this monitor system.
