The first edition of Jack Kanholm's ISO 9000 series was published back in 1992. Now in its third edition, the series has never lost its momentum and have since sold over 70,000 copies. The books have established themselves as the reference of choice for understanding, interpreting and implementing the ISO 9000 standards. Based on the success of this series, we also published Jack Kanholm's books on QS-9000 for the automotive suppliers, ISO 13485 (EN 46000) for the medical device industry, and ISO 14000 environmental management standards.
From the Author
My whole professional life has been in certification and auditing. My job is to judge whether what I see complies or does not comply with the requirements of the standard. I really wrote these books as much for myself and my colleagues as for the quality managers that are on the receiving side of the audit. As a professional auditor I have to be perfectly clear and certain what the requirements of the standard are, and there is no better way to clear one's mind and consolidate the experience than writing a book. I never expected the books to become so popular. They were really ment to be my input into the professional standard of practice for ISO 9000 interpretation and auditing, and thus a rather limited audience. But, I guess, focus, clarity and simplicity are not only good for one's own mind and for winning approval from professional colleagues, but also for everyone else who must understand precisely where the bottom line is for each and every requirement of ISO 9000.
