Excellent divisional history., December 27, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: The 90th Division in World War I: The Texas-Oklahoma Draft Division in the Great War (Paperback)
The 90th Division, largely composed of draftees from Texas and Oklahoma, was at least as good as the 36th Division (from the same area), but never enjoyed the prestige of the more famous Arrowheads.
White very effectively balances the historical record in this admirably researched and well-written history of the 90th, from its inception to demobilization in 1919. Organization, training, personalities, combat narrative, and occupation duties are all very well covered, with photos, maps, notes, bibliography, and Ms. Daniel's exemplary Index. Every division should have a history of this quality.
