For $17 this messenger bag is great. You get what you pay for doesn't seem to apply here as I expected to get something that would be just OK for that price. Granted it's not the same as those other $200-300 bags but that should go without saying. It seems sturdy and well put together. The flap has velcro to keep it in place and that allows for easy access when you need it. If you are planning on using it in a big city where pickpockets are plentiful I'd suggested against this bag. The ease of access for you means ease of access for others as well.

I'm not going to give you a detailed description of it because the pictures posted are very accurate (though the black one seems a little shinier than the stone washed that supposedly have). I say supposedly because either I'm colorblind (and everyone else I've asked) or my bag actually does have a green hue to it, which is not what I ordered or wanted. It's not big of a problem though because it doesn't make it look like those military wannabe look-alike bags.

It has plenty of storage for books, pens, a wallet, cell phone, or other little knick-knacks. Two side pockets, two front pockets, one main compartment, and one zippered inside pouch. The main compartment fits an average laptop but I would suggest against using it for that since it doesn't have the proper supports and protections in case you drop it or bang it against something. The shoulder strap is surprisingly comfortable for being so simple and without cushioning though with a heavy load of books it will start digging in to your shoulder eventually.

My last comment is irrelevant to the product itself (and it didn't affect the star rating at all), but I feel it's important to mention here. First of all with normal shipping it arrived very promptly and without any problems at all (very happy with that). HOWEVER, normal shipping costs $[...]. The next step up starts at $50+!! Fifty bucks to get it a day faster? Are you kidding me? I've had entire shipments containing 10+ books which weighed far more than this bag and the shipping for next day air didn't even come close to $[...] (which won't get you next day air with this bag). What a scam! I took this to the UPS store to ask for a price to ship it expedited across country (just to check) and was quoted $[...]. I hate companies that try to bleed customers for money because they want something faster. Especially when you get it pretty fast with normal shipping, but they don't tell you that.

So unless you absolutely must have this within a couple of days don't bother paying three times the price of the product to get it faster. And if you really need it that fast get in your car and go buy that day.
