5.0 out of 5 stars 100% as I expected
I'm no stranger to MRE's. After 24 years in the military, I've used them a lot. I purchased a case to supplement my disaster preparedness supplies and found them to be exactly as I expected. These come from one of the same companies that packages MREs under Government contract. Good for short camping trips and emergencies. Just make sure you work up a sweat after eating...

1.0 out of 5 stars Old Inventory
When I received my mre packages from BIGFLYSPORTS I quickly looked up the manufacture date on mreinfo.com. It turned out that the packages I received were 4 years old and therefore had a 6 month shelf life remaining (at 60 degrees). While they are technically not expired, I was still completely disappointed because I was planning on keeping these for a disaster.

These come from one of the same companies that packages MREs under Government contract. Good for short camping trips and emergencies. Just make sure you work up a sweat after eating them because they're loaded with calories (and they're supposed to be)! Throw out the coffee unless you need to be dehydrated.

I purchased some time back not really knowing what to expect. I had an opportunity to pop one of the mre's open, use the heater and eat away. I was very pleased with the taste, functioning of the heater, and overall experience with this particular brand. I ate everything but the pineapple packet and saved that. I anticipate purchasing more of these and encourage anyone else to give them a try.

Picked these up just in case, power goes out and need a warm meal. Surprised how hot the heater was. Carefull not to put too much water. Product is tasty too. Recommend.

Meals I bought were produced early in 2010. With a three year cycle this makes them current but not new. They will be getting old in 2 years and not 3. Other than that A-ok.

Say what you want about MREs but if you need food that will last for years and still taste good, MREs are where it's at.
Any emergency box or kit at home for stay-at-home emergencies (like being snowed out) or situations where evacuations are necessary is not complete without MREs like the one featured here. Tastes great even after years of storage.

Got these to have on hand during hurricane season. We had to eat MREs after Hurricane Katrina and these are the government ones so we were pleased about that. The only suggestion I have to the vendor is to be more careful when pulling and packing. I received a lot of meals in the same genre such as beef and more beef. We like beef but would have liked to have seen more of a variety - more chicken perhaps. Other than that they are fine.

MREs are great, and I recommend them highly--from any source other OutdoorBunker. OutdoorBunker's ad clearly says "with heater". the only problem is they do not, in fact, come with heaters and OutdoorBunker has refused to correct the problem.

5.0 out of 5 stars MRE's w/heaters, January 10, 2012

Weather you like MRE's or not, these do the job for in-field eating.
A little know use for the heaters are they can be used to warm you if in cold water. put these in the BDU pockets and allow water to flow though them IF you are in the water like surf-tourture passage training.
