5.0 out of 5 stars Great DVD
The only problem is the lack of new material (although the short recut of WHY (ARE WE STILL FRIENDS) that plays under the photo slideshow is quite nice). 5.0 out of 5 stars Great DVD, May 23, 2002

The only problem is the lack of new material (although the short recut of WHY (ARE WE STILL FRIENDS) that plays under the photo slideshow is quite nice). The interview footage is the old HEAT IT UP video transferred (nicely) with attractive and easy to use menus and logical chapter breaks. All 12 of the group's music videos, including the Spanish language version of UNA NOCHE, are off under another well designed interface. The video transfer is crisp and the sound is sharp. The excellent and attractive discography includes cover art, track list and release dates. I'm a fan, and this is the sort of treatment their work to date has needed for some time. If you like 98 Degrees and have wanted their work on DVD, you can't go wrong with this disc. If you don't know them and like solid R&B vocal harmony, this could very well make you a fan. It's a well done body of work, well presented with a thoughtfully built interface and enough extras to acknowledge this is a collection for fans (there are not a few other pop groups who should be taking notes on how this DVD was done). Hopefully this is the end of the first chapter of their work and not a farewell.

5.0 out of 5 stars the best DVD treatment the guys could get!, April 20, 2004
This review is from: 98 Degrees: The Collection (DVD)
While I was never a big fan of the late 90's pop explosion (I did like Spice Girls and Aqua, but both were more Europop than TRL), I always found myself being a closet 98 Degrees fan. I thought they were cuter than N'Sync and their music was a lot better than Backstreet Boys. These guys had great harmonies, and Nick and Jeff were both foxes.

This DVD, which coincided with their Greatest Hits cd of the same title, contained the now-out-of-print-on-VHS "Heat It Up" documentary from 1999, and it also contained a complete video collection. Some of the videos overlap on the two, but however you get the original b&w Invisible Man (the video featured in Heat It Up was featured later and introduced a clean-shaven Jeff Timmons, while he was scruffy in the original), the videos for I Do Cherish You, This Gift and a live performance of Still, and also the 3 Revelation videos.

98 Degrees had a nice run from 97-01, but they took an extended break after their summer 2001 tour, a lot of us believe they've broken up as Jeff is now listed as "FORMER 98 Degrees vocalist". Nick Lachey and Jeff Timmons have both gone solo (Jeff's album is available exclusively through JeffTimmons.com), and Nick's probably unfortunately better known now as "Mr. Jessica Simpson" than for his music, and it's a shame.

if you have an interest in 98 Degrees in the slightest, this DVD release is worth every cent. Even if you've just gotten exposed to Nick Lachey featuring Newlyweds, check it out.

5.0 out of 5 stars 98 Degrees Are So Hot They Make Steam Look Cool..., January 22, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: 98 Degrees: The Collection (DVD)
Larni loves 98 Degrees. And for good reason.
They're hot as toast on a wintery morning.
I pop this DVD on at work & people come in from miles around to say "Look, it's Nick from Newlyweds. He's so young & hot"
But since the dvd's not out here in OZ we just laugh & say
" He sure is "
And this dvd is young & hot too.
With all their film clips its hard not to be impressed by
their stamina as musicians. And that Heat It Up video included does just that...gets included....
" I want one myself " says Larni.
Don't we all Larni...Don't We ALL.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you thought the CD was good....., September 25, 2002
This review is from: 98 Degrees: The Collection (DVD)
The DVD is outstanding! Funny, entertaining, very hip, of course wonderful songs, and four sexy yet very down to earth guys. Their music is a combination of light pop-rock and R & B, with very soulful lyrics that you will be singing for days. It is nice to know that the guys of 98 haven't let success spoil them, they seem to remember where they came from. They give wonderful interviews and are very much themselves, people the average viewer can relate to. The only downside is as three of them approach the age of thirty over the next year or so, (little Drew is a tender 26!) one wonders if they can continue as a "boy band" or if they will leave the music behind and turn to other things. Frankly, I think they should capitalize on their success with a movie!! How about a sort of "Yellow Submarine" film for 98 or a travel/adventure film? This wonderful DVD presentation shows what they could do in a feature film. Considering that teens and young people are a big part of contemporary movie audiences it would make a fortune. "Titanic" made millions because teens, especially young girls, saw it again and again and again. Are you reading this Universal? Love to Nick, Jeff, Drew and Justin.

5.0 out of 5 stars OK EVERYONE!!!?, October 27, 2005
This review is from: 98 Degrees: The Collection (DVD)
For the sake of not defaming this great group or this DVD I give it 5 stars however, this is not a positive review. I am here to remind everyone that Nick Lachey is not gay and I don't think that he likes a bunch of guys with man crushes on him, so just, I think, calm down.
