Touch 2 0 Technology Prevents the Spread of Bacteria and Saves Money
With Pilar's Touch 2 0 Technology, it doesn't matter if your hands are full of dishes or if you're up to your elbows in cake batter--just use your wrist or forearm to tap anywhere on the faucet's spout or handle to stop and start the flow of water.

This smart technology can help prevent the spread of bacteria in your kitchen. If you've been working with raw foods and your hands are a mess, you can just tap the faucet with your forearm, wash your hands, and keep your surfaces--including your faucet!--as clean and safe as possible.

The faucet will also help you conserve water and save money. As you prepare food or wash up in the sink, just tap the faucet to keep water from running when you don't need it; touch it again to start the water flowing. , the Pilar features a flow rate of 2.2 gallons per minute at 60 psi, 8.3 liters per minute at 414 kPa.

Intelligent Design Fuses Technology and Nature
Inspired by natural beauty and aided by innovative technology, the Pilar will complement any kitchen. Its patented Brilliance Stainless finish is guaranteed not to corrode, tarnish, or discolor for as long as you own your home.

Adding to the Pilar's good looks is a single, sleek, easy-to-use handle. Simple right-to-left movement of the handle adjusts water temperature, while up-and-down movement adjusts flow rate. A ready-to-install chrome soap dispenser completes the faucet's sleek design, enhancing usability and keeping your kitchen countertop tidy and clutter-free.

The Pilar's pull-down wand has a swivel range of 360 degrees as well as a toggle push button that allows you to choose between aerated spray and stream modes. An added bonus, the wand head is equipped with Touch-Clean: soft, rubber nubbins that allow you to wipe away calcium and lime buildup with the touch of a finger. Additionally, the wand's 59-inch hose ensures that every corner of your sink will stay clean. For ease of use, the hose is fed by gravity, extending and retracting without friction points.

Delta's MagnaTite docking keeps the Pilar's wand in place with a powerful magnet, so the wand stays right where it should, and your sink stays neat and tidy. As you raise the wand to dock it, the magnet embedded in the spout will pull the wand precisely into place; the wand comes free with a gentle tug.

Diamond Seal Technology for Durability and Safety
The Pilar features Delta's Diamond Seal Technology, which uses an electronic valve with a diamond coating for durability. Designed with this smart technology, the Pilar is built to last up to five million uses.

Plus, Diamond Seal Technology keeps water that's inside the faucet out of contact with potential metal contaminants, keeping you and your family as safe as can be. Also, the handle limit stop makes it easy for you to limit the range of the handle motion for hot water and protect your family from accidental scalding.

Diamond Seal Technology features one-piece InnoFlex waterways with PEX-C tubing, making the Pilar simple to install. This faucet has three-hole, 6-to-16-inch installation; 32-inch minimum supply lines below the deck are included.

The Pilar Single Handle Pull-Down Faucet with Soap Dispenser is ADA compliant and comes with the Delta Electronic Faucet Limited Warranty. Four alkaline 'C' batteries (not included) are required for operation.

It Works & it's Big September 15, 2009
Color Name:Brilliance Stainless|Amazon Verified Purchase
Just had the faucet installed today (Sept 15) I connected the wires and batteries in five minutes. Turned it on and water came out. Touched the top of the faucet and the water flow stopped. Touched the faucet again and the water started flowing again. It's big, I mean very big. It's much bigger than I thought it would be. Man, this faucet is BIG. I like new toys, and this is a toy that I will play with all night. Other reviewer had problems, so I'll be watching closely.

So far so good, it even matches the granite counter top we got. (New kitchen)

Oh yah, shipping was next day as well, paid a little more but I got this sucker when I needed it.

Update: Two days later:

Water leak under the sink, coming from the solenoid. Not good, might be a bad solenoid or poor install. No touch 2 go feature, no water. Can't risk water damage to my new cabinets. I still like the faucet, plumber is coming back tomorrow. If he can't fix the leak, I'll buy another one and have another plumber install the solenoid, if I can't do it myself.

I will reserve final judgment for now. word of advice: Keep checking under the sink for leaks.

Update 2:

Traced the water leak to a pipe joint, The touch feature worked for another day then stopped completely. Sent an email to Delta and they will be sending out a replacement solenoid. And I don't have to send anything back to them.

Update: Sept 20th

It's broken. Touch 2 Go is gone. Now it's a matter of if Delta will replace it.

Update: Nov 21, 2009

After posting my first review someone had an issue with it being posted too early after installation and thought that the feature is not needed. I can report that the touch 2 go feature is still working. I think it's a great feature. Instant on and off, at full flow, I discovered that when I want '4 cups' of water in my coffee pot, the touch 2 go shuts offs the water flow at the right time with a simple tap.

It's the little things that makes life better.

Update: December 4th 2009

Still working, just like in the video. It may not be the norm, but what do I care? Tap on, tap off. Ha Ha, the little blue led still works too. (just a small joke)

Feb 1, 2010.

Still working, by working I mean, I can tap the faucet or tap and the water flow either stops or starts. Just like the video clip.

I LOVE this faucet! November 14, 2009
Color Name:Brilliance Stainless
I've had the Delta Pilar installed for about a month and a half. I bought it because I really liked it's sleek looks, but I've become enamored with the touch feauture. After opening the box and seeing all the parts, I decided to have the plumber put it in when reconnecting my sink and fixing a leaky valve. It was the first touch faucet he's installed, and did take him a bit longer than regular faucets. He made sure the solenoid and battery connections were working properly, and the faucet has performed flawlessly since. It's a bigger faucet if you're coming from a small older style one, but it certainly isn't enormous and many that are being made now are much bigger. From bottom on counter to top is only 13 1/2".
The touch feature is so handy, you can turn the faucet on or off with the back of your hand, a pinky, an elbow, whatever's handy while your hands are filled or dirty. The water temp is preset by the handle position, which you can also use if you want to turn the water off or on "normally". I find I'm using way less water because I can easily shut it while washing and have it back on with just a touch. The spout and handle, which are the only touch sensitive parts, differentiate between a touch and a hold, and won't come on with a long touch time like a hold. The bottom of the two pieces have a non-sensitive black ring of about 1/2" so you can clean without the water coming on. This is a great idea, but I often accidentally brush up higher while cleaning and inadvertently turn the water on. Not a biggie, easy to turn off.
I hate sprayers that won't stay in place, and this isn't a problem with the Pilar. The pull-down sprayer docks nice and snug with the magnetic docking, one of Delta's great features. It easily changes between stream and waterfall and will stay in that mode without holding a button down - another nice feauture. The mode you left it in will be what comes on after shut off, so you can keep the waterfall flow if you want. The Pilar has a little blue LED indicator light at its base to show it's on, this will turn red when battery power is getting low. I was concerned about what happens when your battery life is waning, but Delta addressed this potential problem as well.
I haven't experienced any of the problems that a few posters have had. The only minor issue I have is that the spout overshoots the center of the drain, as it turns outward a bit instead of downward. This could create a potential for splashing at the front of your cabinet. I do have a rather small sink in this day and age of oversized sinks, and I've solved this by just keeping the faucet turned down and the water pressure low. It's plenty sufficient as it comes out nicely aerated, and I feel I'm really saving a lot on my water usage between the lower pressure use and the touch feature.
All in all, I think that this is a well-thought-out and well-planned product and we'll be seeing more of its type in the future. Even my 20 year old son is impressed and brings his friends in the kitchen to show off the "cool faucet". When it can be purchased for around $350 online or at Lowe's, high cost for the technology is not such an issue, as many good faucets cost as much or more. If and when this faucet needs replacement I would definitely get another Delta Touch faucet.
Oh, and the other problem I have is I'm now spoiled. I keep reaching out to other faucets expecting them to turn on when I touch them!

Color Name:Brilliance Stainless
We have had our Pilar ToucH2O faucet a year (since 11/08) and LOVE IT. So easy and fun! I am extremely picky and it exceeded my expectations. Makes working with raw meats so much cleaner and the water is always the temperature you set it for previously so I can keep mine on super hot the way I like it! :o) Also, imagine the possiblities of having paint on your hands, garden soil, etc...

My family loves it as well and my brother just bought one as well for his newly remodeled kitchen. My Dad installed both of ours so it isn't any harder than installing a 'regular' kitchen faucet.

Two days ago it appears the solenoid unit in ours went bad so we have very slow water flow. Called Delta and they are shipping a new one ASAP but if the slow flow bothers us until it arrives that there is a $9 solenoid bypass kit at most plumbing stores we can install until the new one arrives. No arguments at all and didn't ask for proof of purchase. This faucet costs more than the cheapie ones but I had to replace the 'cheapie' one TWICE in two years for poor construction that led to leaks and non-working parts so I'll stick with my Pilar! I will only update this review IF the new solenoid doesn't work out or another issue occurs.

For those of you who have read about it going on and off by itself - that is simply the batteries not touching correctly. Our battery pack got jolted by us shoving the garbage can against it one day it it did the on/off thing a couple times until we realized what it was and popped them back in correctly. Happy ToucH2Oing!

UPDATE: August 2010
Have had our 980T-SSSD-DST two years now and still LOVE it. Friends just bought one based on our experience for their kitchen remodel!
