'99 Live is the best live recording that I have bought in a long time. Gilby and Tracii's double barrelled guitar attack pumps the raw energy of the show straight out of your speakers, it's great stuff. Eric Singer's precision drumming really stands out, this is a tight band on fire. It's also very interesting to listen to Tracii's versions of the solo's originally recorded by Slash (monkey chow, Tijuana jail, cure me...or kill me...). My only gripe is that 8 tracks is a bit short, 10 or 12 tracks would be more satisfactory. It's not as though Gilby doesn't have enough good material in his back catalogue.

Gilby sounds great on this live album! The recording is awesome and there is a good collection of some of his best songs. I wish it were a little longer though! I could listen to more!!

Gilby Clarke deja de lado los prejuicios de haber sido segunda guitarra durante años y se pone al frente de una banda que toca rock and roll del bueno. El disco es parejo. Tiene toda la energía y la potencia clásica de las grabaciones en vivo . Buena selección de canciones (aunque faltan los covers Dead Flowers y Lucy in the sky with diamonds). Podría haber sido un poquito más largo. Una muestra de lo que Gilby es capaz de hacer sobre los escenarios. Fanáticos de Britney Spears y de los Five abstenerse por favor.

Gilby Clarke pudo sacarse el estigma del segunda guitarrista. El ex Guns n' Roses demuestra en este disco que está al frente de una banda que pueda tocar rock del bueno. Correcta selección de los temas, aunque faltan los covers Dead flowers y Lucy in the sky with diamonds. Los que alguna vez asistieron a alguno de sus conciertos no se sorprenderan, pero tampoco se sentirán defraudados. Fanáticos de Five y Britney Spears por favor abstenerse.
