999's debut is one of THE best of the UK set from the '77/'78 period....It's it's own Best Of...every song is amazing. 999 was a very overlooked band....The Buzzcocks got most of the credit for the quick and catchy 2 min. power pop song. 999 was in the same vein, but a bit tougher/more 'street.' Been listening to this since 1980, still love it to death. The Capt. Oi. cd has all the b-sides and sounds amazing.....GET THIS ASAP and Separates, 999's 2nd album if you like this period of music. OI!

Ah - the term 'forgotten classic'. May as well get it out of the way now, rather than just repeating it endlessly about this essential Punk album. It's well played, well made - power pop at it's very best. Anyone starting a garage or bedroom guitar band should buy this album immediately - there's nothing too flash or over produced here, but everything is so clean, great scales basslines, the most solid of rythm guitar, snappy drums. Play along! Nick Cash's whining vocals are at their best on Titanic (My Over) Reaction in my humble opinion - and 999 never try to over punk it. Here are songs with integrity and a real sense of youthful exuberance. stick it on, leap about for a bit, smile, cheer and put it on again. Bloody good stuff! If you've got the Pistols, Damned and Clash records kicking about, why haven't you got this?
