It is a cold, dark Christmas Eve when the miserly Scrooge is visited by the ghost of his business partner, Jacob Marley. Marley warns him that on this night he will be visited by three ghosts in hopes that he may redeem himself before it's too late. Throughout the night, Scrooge is confronted with scenes from his past, present and his future. Will this be enough to change him? Will he learn to keep Christmas in his heart or is he past all hope? Sung by a cast of outstanding singers, this Christmas Carol comes to life without using any staging, set, or lavish costumes. Using the orchestra as the backbone, the story unfolds through narration, scenes and songs and takes the listener on a compelling and emotional journey.
Bob Christianson is the co-composer of the already successful holiday concert, Too Hot To Handel, which has been performed by major orchestras for the last 20 years. Now comes his latest concert piece written with lyricist Alisa Hauser. Sure to start a new holiday tradition for orchestras, this exciting and uplifting concert will definitely leave you in the spirit of Christmas!
I ordered this after watching the concert on PBS. I was disappointed that it was just the CD and not the DVD but I kept it and love listening to it.Published 22 months ago by Amazon Customer
