Amazing, undescribable sound,
By Manchester Narilaughigus "Manny" (Detroit) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A City Dressed In Dynamite (Audio CD)
Just preview the songs. I really don't know what to call this music, only that is an amalgamate of so many genres. Very jazzy in it's influence, impeccably orchestrated and wonderfully expressed. Godforbid's attitude is pervasive in the vocals and has a style that is all his own. The lyrics, layering, vocals, background, all instruments; everything blends well and everything I have ever heard from them has been perfectly mastered and sounds great. It's gritty, it's funky, it's sullen and it's snappy. Just buy it, you will not be disappointed.
Best songs: Damn Door, Pills for Everything, Kiss the Cook, Squares. I love them all really. It is one of the few albums that I can listen to over and over again and not tire of it. And if you are lucky enough to catch them live then jump at the chance. They put on a great show.
