I love fantasy art and fantasy artists - so I am probably very biased in scoring this book. Having said that, my copy of this is the best part of three decades old - being printed in 1986. Even though I look after it, it still has that "well read" look.

In this book Woodroffe explains his techniques in various media. I originally bought it because I liked to paint, and I learnt a lot from this book. He covers drawing, etching, mixed media, oils and tomographs. Most the work contained within this volume comes from his posters, album covers, and books. He does not go into too much depth and yet he explains everything nicely. I enjoyed learning from this.

I would recommend this to any lover of fantasy art.
