A Cold Reception by Ross Durrer is a good first title for this author. The story is about a rookie contract killer that has certain motivations for his occupation. His experiences take you through Germany, and step you through the main character's novice outlook in becoming a contract killer. Durrer does a nice job of unfolding Johnny's motivations for his occupation, and he leaves you wanting to know more about Johnny's past and his future. This book is a quick read, so it's great to read on a flight or at the beach. Additionally, Durrer clearly has strong knowledge in guns, and paints specific pictures of the models and their purpose, as to where anyone (with or without gun knowledge) could understand what he is trying to articulate. I eagerly await what Durrer will come up with next, as I'm sure there will be a sequel. I recommend this book for anyone that appreciates a mystery that looks into a man's past, present, and future, and for someone with an interest in weapons or guns.
