One of the stranger true-crime stories, that of a psychopath who murders a theatrical agent and concocts a unbelievable scenario to convince the victim's girlfriend that he's a hitman and trying to protect her. The book drags on more than one occasion, thus the lesser review. The psychopath did serve his entire California sentence only to be sent back to Illinois where he had sentences there to serve. He spent his prison time filing innumerable lawsuits against the state and various officials. It's a way to pass the time, I guess.

The book was in the condition that I was told.

I've read this before, but I'm writing a fiction story that has some similarities and wanted this book for research. This is such a strange case, I can't help but wonder if they actually found out the truth. Of course I saw the movie based on the book too.
