Awful Story,
A Kid's Review

This is not a story for those who love dogs and are tender of heart. In fact, I am distressed that it is authored by Twain, who is the master of humor and Americana. I certainly did not expect the curelty and coldness contained within its pages.I suppose Twain was making some sort of social comment. If so, the curelty of the passage overshadowed his revealed purpose. It certainly is not a bedtime story; I will not be reading it to my child. In fact, I will put it away and forever leave it alone, for that is what it deserves. |
