Amazon.com Review

An absorbing mystery as well as a morality tale, the story of Pip, a poor village lad, and his expectations of wealth is Dickens at his most deliciously readable. The cast of characters includes kindly Joe Gargery, the loyal convict Abel Magwitch and the haunting Miss Havisham. If you have heartstrings, count on them being tugged.

From School Library Journal

Grade 7 Up—A young man's burning desire to fulfill his "great expectations" of fame and fortune is presented in Charles Dickens's classic tale of love, madness, forgiveness, and redemption. Simon Vance's masterful narration brings to life such diverse personalities as Miss Havisham, the old woman who was abandoned on her wedding day and is determined to wreak revenge through her beautiful adopted daughter Estella; Joe, Pip's lumbering and slow-witted, but emotionally wise and faithful friend; the mysterious Magwitch, a convict who turns out to be Pip's financial benefactor; and Pip, the boy who longs for a destiny greater than that of living out his days as a blacksmith's apprentice. The companion ebook features automatic start-up, keyword searching, PDF printable format, and table of contents. An exceptionally skilled rendering of this classic.—Cindy Lombardo, Cleveland Public Library, OH

The writing in this novella is really excellent, the characters are charming and believeable, the plot is interesting and well planned. Two talented roommates, Lily and Maddie, are both nursing broken hearts and very reluctant to venture into a relationship. When Maddie loses her job, she meets a sweetly adorable 10-year-old orphan, named Annie. Annie and Lily soon become fast friends, too, bonded over their mutual love of fashion and design. Throw in Annie's two gorgeous, single uncles, Chase and Brent, and what do you think is going to happen?
I really enjoyed the two strong and gutsy, yet feminine, heroines whose friendship is so special and the two charming brothers who help heal Maddie and Lily's broken hearts. (sigh) I liked that the author was able to develop the characters personalities; they weren't just beautiful/handsome, they were good and kind and moral people.
The quality of the editing is extremely good; I saw no typos, misspellings, grammatical errors or formatting issues.
This gentle, sweet story is clean: no cussing, no explicit sex scenes. I got lucky and got this as a free download from Amazon, but it is definitely worth paying for.

The writing was good and the plot was cute without being totally unbelievable. It could have used some more plot development and relationship development between the lead characters. I didn't like that there were two romantic stories crammed into one book: they both could have stood on their own. Overall, a good quick read with cute characters.

This is a really nice romance book, I enjoyed it a lot.
Mona Ingram has a wonderful way of drawing you right into the story.
I like her writing style: not overly wordy/descriptive, and not underdeveloped, but just right for a good read.
There is more to this story than just man/woman, there is also a young orphan girl in the mix.
Reading this book will make you feel good!

NOTE: When I read this book the title was "Gift Wrapped For Christmas", which I think is a better title than "A Family For Christmas". Just my opinion.

This was everything I was looking for in a holiday read! This story is cute and charming. I have always been a big fan of the contemporary romances where the characters can fall in love at first sight and build a believable relationship throughout the book without the need for explicit love scenes. This book was mild-mannered in the regard that it did not contain sex scenes and yet the attraction between the characters was obvious and there was enough spark there to build an entire story around.

This book consists of two simultaneous love stories going on at the same time. As two of the characters are brothers and the female characters are roommate and best friends, the author was able to show the reader the internal feelings of those involved much more clearly and adequately than if the two sets of characters had not known each other.

This book has jerkish-ex boyfriends, gold-digging women, rich handsome men and intelligent women. There is a wonderful child and even a dog that makes this story a complete holiday joy, what is there not to love? Excellent book, Highly recommended.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters were believable. The plot was written in such a way that when you came to the end of a chapter, you had to read on to the following chapter to see what happens next.

I love Christmas romances back before my kindle at this time of year I'd treat myself and buy all the Christmas romances I could get my hands on, I haven't changed the kindle has just made it so much easier.
After reading the synopsis for this book I was briefly confused, I'd read a book/novella last week about a girl called Maddie who after losing her job set up as a personal shopper and gift wrapper in the kiosk of an office building where she gets to know the boss, seemed a bit déjà vu.
The similarities end there this book is so much longer and you get two romances instead of just one, it's beautiful and everything you need in a Christmas romance including two handsome if slightly clueless men, two beautiful women, a precious little ten year old, a puppy, ice skating and lots of Christmas love, oh and to make the book complete we also have a couple of beautiful on the outside but not on the inside women and some misunderstandings, bet you're crying by the end, I know I was.
