5.0 out of 5 stars Sublime instrumental guitar textures!, January 2, 2010

Canadian guitarist Ray Montford has produced an instrumental guitar album of exquisite beauty. If you like Pat Metheny, Michael Hedges, John Abercrombie, and Steve Hackett I can recommend this album highly. Pick up the 180g vinyl for an amazing experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars Writings by Serge Kozlovsky, July 10, 2010

This review is from: A Fragile Balance (Audio CD)
Ray Montford is a beautiful melodist. His music captivates the listener from the first seconds and does not let him off till last ones. Ray Montford's guitar melodies are very expressive and emotional. The artist gives freedom of his feelings and they spread easily like the flowing of a stormy river which makes foam of its blustery waves. And a great power is hidden in this beautifully crafted music! You will undoubtedly be enchanted by Ray Montford's passionate compositions.

This is the music of an ever-changing world. And you can see all the beauty of it with shocking and impressive guitar and great storytelling by Ray Montford. Each of his composition is a particular novel which must be listened to very attentively. "A Fragile Balance" is an excellent gift for the fastidious music gourmet!

5.0 out of 5 stars I want to buy everything Ray Montford!, April 17, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: A Fragile Balance (Audio CD)
I first heard of Ray Montford when he interviewed/played for a show on Echoes (NPR). I was away on a trip at the time, so my husband recorded the show for me to hear when I returned. I finally got around to listening to it just recently. After listening, I immediately went online to Amazon and ordered it. I just love all the beautiful melodies. Ray is a superb composer and musician. The music is inspriational, soothing and at the same time has great rythms. I listen to the original in my car, made a dupe for my kitchen CD player and copied it on my computer! I have listened to it so far at least 30 times. Now I want to purchase all of Ray's albums. Thank you, Echoes, for introducing me to Ray and his story.
