Book Description

Humanity has prayed to deities since the dawn of time. They have prayed for wealth, for improved health or peace among their fellow man. Are prayers really answered? Is Heaven really listening to us? Does God even exist, or is he something born through the fear of our own mortality? Single mother, Melissa, is going to learn the truth about God. She wakes one night to discover an Angel in her home. He has come to grant her the greatest gift of all time. She can perform a single miracle for one person and one person alone. Melissa soon learns the difficulties of her gift. With so much pain and suffering in the world, who should she help? What happens to those she neglects? By looking through the eyes of God she discovers a world full of conflicts, both personal and global, but with only twenty-four hours to decide, who will she pick to save? A Gift from God is a short story not about faith or religion, but about human nature and tries to show that everyone is fighting their own battle.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read For All! March 9, 2012
By Kellie
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
What would you do if you were granted the ability to perform a miracle for someone else? Who would you choose and why? Single mother Melissa is given this gift but she soon finds it a curse. How is she supposed to choose who will receive her gift? Literally at the eleventh hour, Melissa discovers that by helping one, she could possibly help many.

A poignant story showing people that in small ways, we may be performing miracles every day, and which may be the biggest way to help of all.

4.0 out of 5 stars Short with a poignant message October 24, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I had an opportunity to read this story earlier this evening. Although the story was very short, the message behind it was very powerful. It really made me think about God, the perception of miracles and their consequences.

I would say overall, when it comes to a good story, it isn't a matter of how many words are used, but whether or not the right words are being used and if the intended message behind the story is being conveyed. I believed this story did just that. I am pleased I had an opportunity to read it.
