Matt Sims has left behind his Electroclash legacy to delve into the abyss of Darkwave as Mt. Sims, and it's possible that he's never sounded better. The music touches on the early sounds of Manchester (Joy Division, New Order) & Industrial Records (Throbbing Gristle), yet still has that classic Mount Sims feel. "Melting The Ice" is an erratic dirge of an intro, "Grave" has got that classic Factory Records groove that demands repeat listens, "Lost In The Dark" reminds me of a monster movie dance hall, if that makes any sense, and "Unwound" closes the EP with it's racing synths and steady beats. A great sign of things to come. Can't wait till the new Album is released (September/October 2008). Long live Mt. Sims!
