Eddie Pepitone is criminally under-appreciated. He examines the gulf between the intention of being a fully self-realized, self-actualized spiritual human being...and the embankment we are all stranded on where we must live with the pain and harsh truth of reality. But even on this album he urges us to be courageous and continue on the journey. More importantly, he is just freaking hilarious! Thank you Mr. Pepitone!

5.0 out of 5 stars Suppose the nachos are soggy. December 8, 2011
Format:MP3 Music|Amazon Verified Purchase
As many have said, Eddie is the "Comedian's Comedian." He is edgy, creative, and the experience of his comedy is truly unique. A Great Stillness is, at times, fragmented, but Eddie weaves the strands together in unexpected ways and isn't afraid to let digressions take him to funnier places. Whether it's his shouty rants of billious rage or his quieter moments of self-sabotage, including the truly great "The Heckler I & II" where he actually Heckles himself in a revealing and cathartic manner. With Eddie, you laugh but you will also feel challenged and maybe a little uncomfortable. Good comedy should be that way.

5.0 out of 5 stars Eddie Pepitone should be famous by now. January 19, 2013
Format:MP3 Music|Amazon Verified Purchase
Eddie Pepitone is the realest comedian. Motivated by a genuine desire to change the world and a host of very real psychological issues, Eddie lets it all come out onstage and also yells a lot. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars F*#!ing Hysterical April 2, 2012
Format:MP3 Music
I first heard Pepitone on Marc Maron's WTF and ever since watch eagerly for his next appearance. There's no point trying to explain or analyse what makes Pepitone funny; all I can say is give it a listen. Best bits are "I Love to Tweet," "Soggy Nachos," and "Fresh Shirt," and I especially love when he goes off the reservation in the middle of "Fresh Shirt" and his anger gets the better of him, and it seems, anyway, like he's fighting to wrestle himself back to the bit. "The Heckler," and "Porn Union Leader" are great examples of when Pepitone has a brilliant idea that he can't quite develop; they're almost as much fun to listen to as the best bits, both because the ideas are so surprising, but also because it's terrifically entertaining both to hear him talk, and to try to wrestle a fully developed bit out of a genius idea.

5.0 out of 5 stars Intense stand up March 14, 2012
Format:MP3 Music
Excellent and hilarious stand-up comedy album. Politically and psychologically prescient humor for people are fed up or just tired. Highly recommended.

A whole album of the same angry man at the end of every WTF live episode. Hilarious! Great album, Eddie!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Stillness Echoes Infinitely December 20, 2011
Format:MP3 Music|Amazon Verified Purchase
I've had the pleasure of seeing Eddie Pepitone perform live and A Great Stillness perfectly captures what an Eddie Pepitone show is like. If you're a fan of catchphrase and idiotically repetitive 'comedy' then do not get this album. Eddie Pepitone's humor works on many different levels as he reveals his own contradictions and the absurd contradictions in society that are leading us (quickly) to oblivion. A Great Stillness is definitely "laugh out loud" funny but I'll often think about points he brings up, such as the endless marketing we are exposed to ("A Revolutionary," "Fresh Shirts"), social media ("Soggy Nachos"), and my own lack of discipline ("At War With Myself"). A Great Stillness is one of the top 3 comedy albums of 2011, it's a must-get. Also: go see Eddie perform live when he comes to your town and listen to The Long Shot Podcast of which Eddie is 1/4th.
