This book is everything I want when I read this genre. No, its not a literary masterpiece but it is a FUN read...predictable with enough twists to keep you reading and enough character development to make you care. If you enjoy movies like "Pretty Woman", then this book will hit the spot. I couldn't put it down.

It was a good read, but predictable,

I thought that this was a very good book that many 20-30 something singles could relate to. The bad relationships, the day dreaming that the server is your true love... Even though I'm married I still enjoyed reading this entertaining chick lit. At times, it is a bit predictable and somewhat annoying. The length of time things happen, too, is frustrating. Almost a year can be covered in a couple chapters. A month in less than that. Some of the characters weren't fully developed and at times it seems like they did a 180. It was definitely a good read, finished it in a day. There were some typos that I noticed right off the bat, for instance "Lara" instead of Laura, "he" instead of she, etc. You definitely get frustrated at Nick and Laura over SO many things...you just want to beat them over the head sometimes. Overall, a good read, but not something where you feel emotionally attached to the characters or are surprised at what happens next.

I don't know how to say this other than to say that reading this novel felt like walking through a beautiful, English countryside somewhere. It definitely was one of the better chick lit novels I've read in awhile. While predictable (as repeated a million times here), you don't really care, and it in fact propels you to read even faster. I really loved the vulnerability of the characters and genuinely cared about their lives and feelings. A must read this year, next, or whenever.

I love romantic novels. I seek them out often. I also like long ones. This one is 531 pages. I absolutely loved the relationship between Laura and her grandmother Mary. The relationship between Laura and Nick... I wanted to strangle them both at times. Girl is involved with the wrong guy, everyone knows it, girl gets dumped. Then she meets "the One" but refuses to acknowledge it. Can I say ill communication??? I think back to one or two significant relationships in my past and I want to strangle myself because of the lack of communication. Oy! Just think of all that wasted time when they could have been together.I loved the book nonetheless. The ending was pretty nice and sweet.

This is a feel good novel to get your mind off whatever ails you. It is a delight to read and a lovely bit of fluff to clear the cobwebs from your mind.

Loved this book. I'm a big fan of Sophie Kinsella and Jill Mansell, and this author is right there with them. Great story, gotta love the British life. Laura was very likable and you just want her dreams to come true. I was hooked with the opening paragraphs!

I've never written a review on Amazon before, but this book compelled me to do so! I guess you could consider this "chick lit," however, the book is long with lots of twists and turns, so it felt much more like a novel while reading it. In fact, when I got to Part 4, I couldn't believe that Part 1 was the same story! In a good way... it showed how much the character had been developed and changed throughout. This is a wonderful love story but also explored many other relationships between friends and family. The description of the homes and landscape were really fun - it made me wish I was there! I also found the main character, Laura, to be really likeable because she seemed real with flaws, and experienced many emotions any girl in her late 20s would feel. Great book!
