5.0 out of 5 stars Killer Wail, November 2, 2002

This review is from: A Killer Wail (Audio CD)
This album is a real jem. Each and every track is something electrifying or deeply stirring; many of the titles are original compositions by the musicians themselves. These players are real artists in every sense of the word, with astounding control over their instruments. They've been playing together for decades, some of them, and the sound they produce is accordingly mature and sophisticated. It's a real treat to listen to this album. O.Pandolfi's ballad B Blue, B Greene, B Gone, named after the late Bobby Greene is especially stirring.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Jazz Band in New England!, February 22, 2004
This review is from: A Killer Wail (Audio CD)
Couldn't believe my ears when I first heard cuts played on a Boston radio station at 4 AM New Year's Eve 2001. You'll never tire of listening to these outstanding musicians perform on this "live" recording. What a tremendous array of talent. Neil Weiss, the producer, is the Clive Davis of jazz music here in New England. What a find! A second album by this superband is long overdue.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Jazz, January 18, 2003

Melody R Marchman (Williamstown, MA United States) - See all my reviews

What a treat! This album is truly a work of art and indeed a fine compilation of music. The original writing is new and fresh and deviates from the standard jazz progressions. O. Pandolfi's musical prowess is especially prevelant in his poignant composition, "B. Blue, B. Greene, B. Gone."
