Book Description

When your family has a history which you’d rather forget, there’s an invading force of Taurans trying to remodel your planet and some evil monster just won’t leave you alone; you know it’s not your day. Vincent Kombel knew that he had a lot to pay for; being of Old Blood meant much on New Sevilla, just for Vincent it meant a little bit more...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not developed enough. June 24, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Science Fiction short story.
Some action, some emotions, some strangeness mixed up with old blood and a tomb. A touch of horror.

Needs to be connected and developed better.

Good foundation for a story... just needs some more work.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad, to put it mildly August 8, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Unfortunately, if it were possible to give zero stars, that's what I'd give this story. The prologue wasn't bad, and caught my interest, but the story itself was awful - there was NO story! It was just a series of events involving of blood, violence, shapeshifting, and alien invasion. There was no story to hold them together. No rationale for what was happening. No past that would lead to what was happening in the present. No future based on what was happening. It was just non-random violence taking place in a void. Perhaps if it was made into a full-length book where there's space enough and time to give the background, character development, and all the other prequisites to a full-fledged story, it *might* have a chance.

NOT recommended.

Note on Kindle formatting: Very good. I noticed no issues.

8/9/11 - ETA - rephrase for clarity.

2.0 out of 5 stars Read a guiding light, couldn't finish this. August 6, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
A poor man's Warhammer 40k verse. I frankly couldn't finish this short. Got about 3/4ths of the way through and had to bail. Read guiding light and that was okay, this one... not so much.
