We run a plant nursery and use these by the thousands (literally). They work great and are long lasting. If you are overlapping landscape fabric to make a wider piece, however, use construction adhesive on the seams instead of these. The adhesive will hold better and be cheaper in the long run. These are better used for holding down the fabric and for non-overlapped edges. Only precaution is that after a particularly hard winter with lots of freeze/thawing, you will need to make sure the pins haven't heaved. You may need to push them back into the ground. Other than that they're great.

I write very few reviews, but make an exception for this product. These fabric anchor pins are by far better then what I've ever found locally. They are a heavier gauge wire and they are at least an inch and a half longer. And to top it off they are around $7/100 vs. $12/75 from the local big box home improvement store. I ordered 1000 and the two boxes were 40lbs total, so $13 in shipping is worth it.

I purchased these because they were less expensive than buying the little packs that come with landscape fabric at the local hardware stores; particularly because I have been putting down about 300 linear feet of landscape fabric. These are so much better than those from Home Depot or Lowe's because the wire is thicker and the prongs are longer. They take hammering into the ground much better and also they are easily straightened and reused after hitting rocks in the ground and bending (I live in a very rocky area). Do your math; if you plan to put down more than 200 feet of landscape fabric, purchase these for good coverage; it will also be much cheaper in the long run than buying those little bags of anchors from the hardware store you buy your landscape fabric from.

Other reviewers have mentioned the round tops. Yes the picture shows square staples. The ad, however, clearly states they are round top staples. That's why I bought them. The round top doesn't create a pressure point, when I install them as others have mentioned. In fact the lack of square corners makes them far more comfortable in my opinion... and stronger. The shipping is free. So the recent shipping complaints are clearly in places where shipping costs are expectedly high (islands, wildernesses, countries with poor infrastructure, etc.). Others complained about the weight... of course 500 steel staples weigh 20lbs. They're steel. All of the reviews below 4 stars seem angry at the staples for the customer's own circumstances. Also, the coatings on ground staples have nothing to do with rust. Some of the more experienced reviewers don't understand this either. This is a manufacturing lubricant. It's there to let the metal wire slide smoothly through the bending equipment. The more grease or oil on the staple, the more damage you do to your soil. That's the second reason I purchased these staples as opposed to others. It's also a sign of quality materials and good storage practices that very little lube was needed to make the staples and keep them rust free in the box. The last brand I used was COVERED in graphite grease which took days to scrub off my hands.

These are awesome staples. I've installed several thousand staples from several companies over the last 4 years from landscaping to crop planting. These are the lessons I have learned. The round top creates a bunching effect when installing plastic or fabric, making the material less likely to tear off the staple on a windy day. The cinch effect also tightens the fabric or plastic you put down.

Needed alot of anchor pins put down over 14,000 sq feet of material and these have points on the bottom which makes it an ease when pushing them through commercial grade landscape material . If you are going to be putting down alot of material this the way to go!

I used these to hold down the round, black soaker hose. They're plenty long, even in my sandy soil. Whenever the hose wanted to curl and lift the pin, I used two together, set in at different angles, and that worked great. I bought these from the reviews, so don't know how they compare to other brands. 500 is a lot of pins, though. I'll likely sell off the remainder.

Bought 4,000 of these for installation on the farm with fabric. However, these are not as shown in the images! They are curved on top rather then flat which makes for a pressure point when pushing in with the heel of your hand or bottom of your foot if you do not have heavy shoes on. Maybe not an issue for 50 to 100 around the home, but 4,000 ...... It the shipping cost was not so high I would be sending these back.

As others noted, these do not have a rust-resistant coating so they do need to be a thicker gauge then coated stapes. They do come with a light oil covering for storage protection.

These pins worked great but where im from the soil can seem as hard as concrete. I had a few pins leftover which also came in handy because I managed to bend a few in the process due to the soil.
