What's the deal? Seasons 1 and 2 were three and four discs respectively, selling (on Amazon) for about $25-$30. Now season 3 comes out with just one disk, and sells for about the same?? SORRY! I'll think I'll wait for the complete season to come out at a less exhorbitant cost. I don't love the show that much.

I enjoyed Seasons 1 and 2, and was ready to order Season 3 until I saw it was in TWO VOLUMES. You have to be kidding!!!!! In these days of Netflix, they are cutting their own throats. Judging from the other comments, I and others will wait ten years before we will pay for two volumes of the same season.

In general, I'm a big fan of USA Network Shows. This one isn't my favorite. Nothing wrong with it, it's just not exactly my cup of tea. But the cast is very likable, and I do watch it. My one star rating does not reflect the quality of this show, it's the way it is released in two volumes. I bought the first season on DVD, and intended to buy more, but now that they have broken this series up into volumes, NO WAY will I EVER spend ANY money on this show again.

USA series on DVD are TOO EXPENSIVE ALREADY! I have had all I can do to buy my favorites, Burn Notice and White Collar. Originally, I had plans to collect Royal Pains, Suits and Covert Affairs as well, but no more. And perhaps not White Collar either at these prices. One would think that by now, the networks would know that fans HATE having series split into "volumes". There are numerous classic TV series that were released that way, only to be re-released as full seasons when the fans WOULDN'T BUY THEM.

Unless NBC figures out that the American public's pockets were picked clean YEARS ago, and make these available at REASONABLE prices, Burn Notice will probably be IT for me, and only months after release when each season gets down to a reasonable price. I mean honestly, do the TV execs REALLY need billions of dollars? Won't millions do?

This is one of our favorite sleeper shows! When I first watched it I thought it was really stupid! Now that I have been able to watch it from the beginning, the pilot on, it is really good. Hank is a medical Micgiver, and his brother is just a real pain in the ass, but it is interesting to see how Hank, Divia, and Paige control him. Oh, let's not forget the elusive Boris, wow what a mysterious character! Well anyway we love it! Watch it and you will get hooked to!

Haven't viewed all the dvds, so I can't comment on the overall technical quality- so far so good.
For the content of the shows, that's a matter of personal taste that should be left up to the viewer: I'm a fan, but that's a personal taste.

I don’t know that I’ve ever watched a medical show before, but Royal Pains has me completely addicted. It’s a nice mix of medical mystery and personal soap opera with a healthy dose of comedy to lighten things up. And personally, I can’t stop watching. If you’ve fallen behind, I’ve got good news with the release of Royal Pains Season Three Volume One in plenty of time to catch up before the second half of the season begins.

This two disc set consists of 10 episodes that pick up nine months after the end of season two. Hank Lawson (Mark Feuerstein) and his brother Evan (Paulo Costanzo) have spent the time in theHamptons, offering medical assistance to those in need. After canceling her wedding, their physician assistant Divya Katdare (Reshma Shetty) has been working with them. The only people who have been missing are the women in their lives. Jill Casey (Jill Flint) spent the time helping at a small medical facility inSouth America, and she returns fully intending to return as soon as she can. Meanwhile, Evan’s girlfriend Paige (recurring guest star Brooke D’Orsay) has been traveling Europe with family.

But the summer gets off to a bang as one of the first buses bring summer people into the resort area is involved in an accident, right in front of Hank. Evan, the money guy in the business, wants to use that for publicity. Divya takes on a second job when she feels the need to pay off a huge debt. And Evan’s plans to propose to Paige hit snags in a secret that Hank thinks he knows about Paige and her father’s (Bob Gunton) insistence that Evan be able to provide for Paige better. And there’s potential big news with Boris (recurring guest star Campbell Scott) and his disease as well.
