Book Description

"Erotically charged and emotionally heartwarming..."

Dr. Dolittle meets Northern Exposure....

Gordon closed the door behind her and walked woodenly to the bed.
He wanted to forgive Taylor. Desperately. But he couldn't trust
her. If he allowed himself to trust her, she'd have the power to
hurt him. No matter what, he couldn't give her that power ever

The floor creaked just beyond Gordon's door, and he held his
breath as the doorknob turned. His heart thundered and he wanted
desperately to call out to her.

Slowly, the door opened, and Taylor stood framed by firelight.

"Dear God." His gaze drifted down the length of her, savoring
every inch of bare leg. His body sprang to life even as his mouth
formed the words, "Taylor, don't..."

"I've been lying awake, and I can't stop remembering." She padded
barefoot to his bed. "Look at me, Gordon."

He raised his lashes and met her gaze. Something bright and hot
and dangerous burned in her eyes. "Do you know..."

She put her knee on his bed and cupped his cheek with one hand,
then brought her other knee onto his bed and framed his face with
both hands. "I only know this," she whispered, leaning closer to
cover his mouth with hers.

Gordon held his breath as she pulled him closer, stroking his
lips with her tongue until he growled and wrapped his arms around
her to tug her down on top of him.

He should hate her. He should fight this.

He couldn't.

About the Author

After declaring her candidacy for President at age four, Deb Stover veered off course to play Lois Lane for a number of years. After she refused to blow Clark Kent's cover, she turned her attention to her own Real American Hero and married him. Considering her experience with Heroes, redirecting her passion for writing toward Romance Novels seemed a natural progression. Since publication of Shades of Rose in 1995, Stover has received dozens of awards for her work, which includes over twenty titles in a variety of languages and formats. 5.0 out of 5 stars Hot, steamy, witty, romantic. March 5, 2000
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Genre: Contemporary Romance. Highly recommended Ten years ago, the trust between Taylor Bowen and Gordon Lane was irretrievably breached. Rather than confront her boy friend, Taylor left the small town of Digby, Colorado, to finish her senior year in Florida. Now Taylor is returning to Digby to set up her first practice. She intended to complete her three-year term and then seek a research position, and settle down with her wealthy safe boyfriend Jeremy. But Taylor's plans gets away before she can even reach Digby. Lost on mountainous back roads, she stumbles right into the man who broke her heart ten years before nearly naked and sexier than ever. When she finally reaches town, she learns the clinic isn't ready. Because of insurance concerns, the only place she can practice medicine is at the town' only veterinarian office. Mortified, she learns the town's only vet is Gordon Lane. This is a sexy, fun romance. I couldn't help feeling lusty right along with Taylor over Gordon's sexy body and prematurely gray hair. Hot, steamy, and witty, Deb Stover is at the top of my romantic writers list.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent story.. February 3, 2013

Deb Stover is a wonderful story teller. Gordon and Taylor were wonderful couple. Sue, Ryan and Jeremy were great characters. And, yes, it was hot, hot, hot. Love that in a book. Highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Always March 15, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Always takes place in the Colorado Mountains in a small town. The town paid for the doctor's education and she needed to return to her hometown for three years as the town doctor. She had left just after high school without saying good-by to anyone, especially to Gordon, her boyfriend and lover due to a giant misunderstanding. Her return involves fire ants, bear tracks and mudslides before they find a way to forgive each other and learn to trust again.

The entire misunderstanding developed due to a lack of communication and trust. The story deals with these issues as the two main characters, Gordon and Taylor learn to trust the attraction for each other that have never left either of them for the ten years they were apart. This is a delightful story of love and forgiveness set in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. The second love story of Sue and Jeremy made a good plot addition with Ryan adding his unique ten-year-old perspective.

4.0 out of 5 stars Never Forgotten May 10, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I honestly liked this story. It is not a full blown romantic novel, but it does display people that have been unable to forget or forgive the past; or the hurt and the pain. No it isn't a mystery either, or suspense. It's just a story of how people learn to trust again.
Thank you Ms Stover, i have read other books of yours, and they do not disappoint.

5.0 out of 5 stars Deb Stover writes Romance as no other. September 21, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
THEN: Taylor Bowen and Gordon Lane had been head-over-heels in love in high school. But shortly after everyone finished celebrating graduation Gordon’s actions broke Taylor’s heart. Beyond hurt, Taylor had fled Digby without telling Gordon that she had learned of his infidelity.

NOW: It has been ten years since Taylor had left Digby, Colorado. She is proud to have finally become a medical doctor. Taylor never expected to one day return to Digby, but here she is. For the next three years Taylor will be the mountain town’s doctor. As she settles in the mayor calls to inform her that weather has delayed the construction on the Digby Medical Clinic. Until the building is ready, she will have to see patients at the Digby Veterinary Clinic. Things go from bad to worse when Taylor learns that the local vet is none other than Gordon Lane. And, of course, his receptionist just happens to be Sue Wheeler, her former best friend and the one who had helped Gordon betray her.

After all this time, Gordon is still hurt that Taylor had left town rather than to trust him. For the short time Taylor would be sharing his office space, he will stay professional and hide his pain. But Gordon soon realizes that the past is not over for any of them.

***** FOUR & A HALF STARS! More is going on than I reveal in my synopsis. Tension is added by the presence of Taylor’s fiancé coming to visit, the mischievous actions of Sue’s son, and interesting secondary characters – such as Mrs. Johnson and her equally neurotic cat.

Deb Stover writes Romance as no other. Her unique writing style kept my imagination soaring and had my heart melting. I ended up reading this entire novel in a single afternoon. The main characters are fully developed and the secondary ones are well formed. I highly recommend this story to all fans of Romance. *****

2.0 out of 5 stars Typical Romance March 1, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Another typical plot that turns into a so-so romance. I would have given the book one more star but towards the end, it felt like the author rushed to finish. All of a sudden there is a one month gap of time and a lot seems to have happened in that one month time frame. Why rush, after going through the minute details of day to day pieces up to this point?? This book is not "EROTICALLY CHARGED" as the cover states - so take the cover with a grain of salt!

More About the Author

At the tender age of four, Deb Stover declared her candidacy to become the first female President of the United States. She took a detour to play Lois Lane, and penned her first Letter to The Editor at age eleven. The Lois Lane gig suited her, so she stuck with it for a while, but in the end she couldn't bring herself to blow Clark Kent's cover for the Big Story. Then she fell in love with and married her own real American Hero, so Superman was free to continue fighting for justice (seriously, what is Clark doing about the dearth of phone booths these days?).

Considering her extensive personal experience with real heroes, redirecting her passion for writing from journalism to Romance Novels seemed a natural progression. Since publication of Shades of Rose in 1995, she has received dozens of awards for her work, which includes over twenty titles in a variety of languages and formats.

A native of Wichita, Kansas, Deb and her family have lived in five states, but after her Hero Husband's death, she made the decision to follow the Yellow Brick Road back to live near her Hero Dad in Kansas. After all "there's no place like home."

Of course, there's still the unfinished matter of her presidential campaign, but first she has many more stories left to write....
