Hmm, steamy retelling of one of my favorite fairy tales, Cinderella...check! I have been eagerly waiting for Lila DiPasquas newest Fiery Tales to come out and I was surprised when my library notified me that it was in already, last Friday, four days before it was supposed to come out. Naturally, I hurried over to check it out and then proceeded to devour it over the weekend. Did it live up to the high hopes I had for it? Absolutely.

Sabine Laurent is desperate. Her family needs to pay taxes or they will be thrown into the debtors jail. She comes up with an outlandish plan to steal chests of silver from a camp of men...by posing as a whore and hopefully getting the men to drink some tainted wine before anything should happen. Sabine is floored when she shes who is in charge though. It is her childhood crush, her Dark Prince, one of the reasons her family is in the desperate circumstances, Jules de Moutier.

Jules de Moutier is desperate as well but for a different reason. His father was falsely accused of a crime and hanged for it and his family lost their titles and lands. For someone who grew up as an Aristo, this is unacceptable and he needs all the silver to find out who set up his father and get the title and lands reinstated. He initially doesn't trust Sabine but he can not get this blond fairy and the two start a very steamy, hot relationship. Jules is amazed at the feelings he feels when with Sabine, it is nothing like he has ever felt before but that all comes crashing down when Sabine finally succeeds in stealing his silver. Then he is bent on revenge on her as well but still...he can't quite shake his feelings and when it is revealed that Sabines beloved missing twin may have been involved in his fathers death, they set out to find out the truth.

Sigh, what a book and what a story. I mean the villain of the story, whoa, whiplash, I did not see that one coming and he is just an evil man. We have the stepmother, who really isn't that evil, two stepsisters, who are just a bit silly, some special glass slippers and a fabulous ball. Sabine was a wonderful female, strong, independent and she went for what she want. Jules, now he took a bit for me to warm up too as his nose was stuck for far in the air I was surprised he could walk. I don't think he completely redeemed himself but he did change enough to make me happy. I loved watching Sabine and Jules fall in love. Their lovemaking was scorching hot but it was also special. And the ending! Oh, I can not wait for the next book! Overall, 5 stars and a definite keeper and reread.

I now think of author Lila DiPasqua as "Scheherazade". Having just read her third Fiery Tale book, "A Midnight Dance", I can strongly advise that Ms. DiPasqua is not just a premier author of erotic historical romance, she is also a master storyteller. With each of her books, I have been captivated by the character development and the story line detail, but there is more, much more. There is undeniable passion, titillation and temptation, but there is also intrigue, revelation and redemption. Then there are the surprises, which keep you turning the pages looking for more depth-adding twists and turns. In "A Midnight Dance", lovely Sabine Laurent sacrifices much to restore the lands, fortune, and good name of her family. The man she has always adored from afar, Jules de Moutier, is the son of the man she holds responsible for her family's ruin. Jules' family has not been untouched by tragedy, and for years he has strived to replenish the lost wealth and social standing of his aristocratic heritage. When Sabine and Jules cross paths again after many years, they are at cross purposes, each intending a cache of silver coins to be the answer to their own individual quest. There are others interested in that same silver--others who live with evil intent and the desire to torment Sabine and Jules and those around them. The passion between the inexperienced, loving Sabine and the sensually masterful Jules is scorching! However, it is Sabine's inner fire which kindles deeper embers in the worldly Jules. "A Midnight Dance" will leave you breathless, and hoping to experience the same sensations soon with another Fiery Tale. Most pleasurably recommended!

In A Midnight Dance we meet Sabine Laurent, who is in dire straits. Sabine is a woman on a mission to save her family. But in order to do that she must be willing to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to gain the trust of those she plans to deceive. But as with all good plans not all goes right. The last person Sabine ever expected to find in this camp is the one man she blames for the fall of her family. Jules deMoutier
Jules deMoutier has been stripped of everything, his money, his title, and his pride. But after 5 long years he is so close to getting everything back. Back to the way his life should be. But Jules never planned for one small blond woman to come into his camp and steal his treasure out from under his nose.
Sabine is a great heroine. She is smart, funny, determined and really doesn't take people's crap very well. Her only weakness seems to be her heart. Sabine cares too much sometimes.
Jules, aahhh, sweet, handsome, suborn, wouldn't know when a woman is lying to him Jules.. Jules is HOT... He his Dream.... He really is a prince charming under all that holier than thou attitude.
OH, Lila is wicked good. There was not one moment that I didn't love this story. Lila doesn't wait very long for there to be a very hot forest sex scene *wiggle eyebrows* Lila does a great job of taking the Cinderella story and telling it in a way I would have never thought about. This is truly a riches to rages to riches story.
