5.0 out of 5 stars A Minor Bird, A Major Album. April 24, 2012
Format:MP3 Music
As a fan of Eisley since 2004, I knew that Stacy had the potential to go on and do great things in the musical world even then, and these great things can be seen on this album. She has a voice to make you fall in love with her, even if you've never seen her. The music surrounding her voice is filled with strings that complement the attitude of the album, which is something of magical dreaminess and youthful innocence. I say youthful innocence, but this album demonstrates just how much Stacy has matured since she was just a young teen during the Marvelous Thing EP days of Eisley. If you are, ever were, or have yet to be a fan of Eisley, I recommend this album to you whole-heartedly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Something unique and beautiful May 11, 2013

As a huge fan of Eisley, I'm ashamed to say that I didn't find out about this album until over a year after its release. I don't keep as close a watch on music as I used to, but I'm so glad I found it. I was just looking as the deluxe edition of Currents and saw this album and thought, "Hey, that looks like Stacy." I didn't hesitate to download it and I'm not a bit disappointed. The obvious connection is with Eisley, though I think, aside from the vocals, the sound is definitely different. I'd compare it more to St. Vincent, Elizaveta, Sleeping At Last, or Copeland--the Copeland from Eat, Sleep, Repeat and You Are My Sunshine--more than Eisley. It's more orchestral and ambient. I can also hear some Mute Math, but maybe that's because I was expecting to hear it. The album is truly beautiful, which is nothing less than what I'd expect from one of the Dupree girls. And while I love Eisley and am super excited for their new album, as they've only gotten better with each album, I can say with just as much enthusiasm that I hope we'll be hearing more from Sucre in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars Charming, romantic and beauty at its finest February 2, 2013

I have completely fallen in love with this CD over and over again. I must have listened to it over 500 times. Stacy's vocal are one of an angel and when you accompany her sweet, loving voice with a beautiful instrumental background, you have pure perfection. This is a CD full of emotion and power. I find myself getting lost in each song, almost like reliving a dream. The music is relaxing, yet empowering. I only pray that Sucre will strike again and soon.

Many compare Sucre to Eisley and although they may be similar, they are still very different. Stacy pushed herself and in Sucre, there is an absolute line between that and Eisley. However, if you are a fan of Eisley, chances are you will love Sucre. Where Eisley may be classified as pop, indie, or soft rock, Sucre would be a catergory of its own. Its not as poppy as Eisley, its pure romance.

I love both Eisley and Sucre, and I cant say enough positive about Sucre. I wish the CD was available in stores, but I have shared it with my office as well as friends. Whenever Sucre comes on in the office everyone always asks, "Who is this?? I LOVE this!!"

Sucre is pure magic.
