I discovered this band through Intramural (Denver Dalley side project). This is one of my all-time favorite records. They are really nice people, too. I've been trying to remix them for some time but they're insanely busy... I hope someday I'll be able. A New Hope is one of the best albums of the last 10 years. Bands like this don't come around too often, so make sure you support them while they're here. They give a lot of uber-successful bands a run for their money, with their songcraft, melodic sense, and overall structure and arrangement. Yes, I analyze great music, and this is worth analyzing a million times over.
Beautiful in its simplicity. Stunning.

What a fresh new sound! If this were the 60's, "minipop" would be on the Ed Sullivan show. The music is permeating...that is, it will penetrate any garbage that's in your life at the moment and provide refuge. Their music is fun, peace-rendering and refreshing. "New Hope" is a display of intoxicating artistry. Can't wait for their next one.

Minipop is exceptional!,
This review is from: A New Hope (Audio CD)
If you haven't listened to the new hit band Minipop, you're definitely at a big loss. Not only was it loved by the San Francisco Bay Area, but I hear it's gaining ground and that everyone who hears it loves it, and I fall into that 'everyone' category. My teenage children, my spouse, and my friends all enjoy it, so it is obviously appealing to all ages. Definitely listen, or else you're missing out.

I have to say I was a big fan and I still listen to my Breeders and my Belly CDs. So Minipop is like falling off a really nice moss covered log cool in the middle of a forest glen full of fairies and hope. I really like it. I had the feeling that I was sitting by the river at sunset listening to people talk and laugh while the album played. I cannot suggest any individual songs because they all fit together. But I can say that Precious is part of the SXSW preview package which is where I found them. Sounds like Breeders, Belly, Cocteau Twins

I don't typically take the time to review things online, but this whole album is great. Every song is chill and peaceful, but yet beautiful and epic at the same time. Everything works perfectly together: the vocals, the bass, the guitars, and everything else. Stunning. I hope they come out with a new album soon!

I'm surprised how appealing the entire album is. After hearing a track on pandora, it went on my wish list at amazon. If you like dream pop, this is one to check out. I hope there's more from this band soon!
I got the MP3 - quality and listening experience is very good for a MP3.

I can't remember now where I heard of Minipop, but I'm glad that I did. I've heard Minipop being referred to as dream-pop, which is a very fitting description. New Hope is chock full of epic guitars, synth stylings, and spacey female vocals. My personal highlights are "Like I Do", "Generator", and "Precious". I recommend this if you are into Eisley or maybe Radiohead.
