Book Description

Introducing the Sinful Scoundrels...

The Earl of Bellingham is nothing is not a creature of habit: money, meals, and mistresses must be strictly managed if a man is to have a moment's peace. It's a system that works splendidly for him--until now. With his oldest and dearest friends succumbing, one by one, to wedded bliss, Bell is now restless and a trifle lonely. Enter the Sinful Scoundrels--Colin Brockhurst, Earl of Ravenshire, and Harry Norcliffe, Viscount Evermore--who drag him back into society and draw his rakish eye to the ton's new beautiful young widow. Bell isn't after a wife, but a challenge. And Laura Davenport should fit the bill quite nicely...

2.0 out of 5 stars Be aware this is just a preview - NOT A COMPLETE STORY September 16, 2012
By KKJ
Format:Kindle Edition
[NOTE: I read an advance review copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley.]

Anyone buying this needs to be aware that while this is billed as a "prequel," it is just TEASER for an upcoming full-length novel. Characters and conflict are introduced, but there is no resolution to the story. The "prequel" ends at 67%, with the remaining third an excerpt from the full novel.

What's there is well-written and somewhat intriguing, but I got the impression it would be just another typical Regency.

2.0 out of 5 stars A teaser, not a novella. September 11, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I'm well aware that this is billed as a novella - I just wanted to let others know before they purchase it, that it is more like a teaser for her upcoming series than an actual novella.

The stars are for the awesome characters, the lack of stars are for a cheap ploy to make me buy the novel... A cliffhanger ending is hardly a satisfactory conclusion to something that I spent an hour or so reading with complete delight.

I'll buy the new books, gladly, but I returned this with a bad taste in my mouth, feeling like I was being manipulated.

2.0 out of 5 stars Teaser not Novela September 13, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This preview of a book is billed as a Novella and I was completely annoyed to get into the book and find it come to a stop with no explanation of why. Only to realize that I payed a $1 for a sample of a book with no release date. So what you get is a preview called a Season for Sin which is of the book What A Wicked Earl Wants. So you get the first 5.5 chapters only to find that it's a preview of a different book coming soon and then you jump to chapter one that is where you left off in chapter 6. Reads like a Advanced Reader Copy.

3.0 out of 5 stars Memo to publishers: stop marketing a mere teaser as a "novella"
My first read from Vicky Dreiling, but not my last I'm sure. This short novella is filled with (what I'm told is) Dreiling's trademark humor, and I like that. Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Great so far...
But I don't appreciate purchasing an incomplete story. I won't blame the author, because I doubt it was her idea, but I do have an issue with the publisher.

So, I am reading the book on my Kindle and the story ends suddenly, giving no indication that it is coming to an end. Then there are several other previews for other stories. Read more

More About the Author

Vicky Dreiling is a confirmed historical romance junkie and Anglophile. Frequent business trips to the UK allowed her to indulge her passion for all things Regency England. Bath, Stonehenge, and Spencer House are among her favorite places. She is, however, truly sorry for accidentally setting off a security alarm in Windsor Castle. That unfortunate incident led her British colleagues to nickname her "Trouble."

When she's not writing, Vicky enjoys reading, films, concerts, and most of all, long lunches with friends. She holds degrees in English literature and marketing. A native Texan, she shares her home with her daughter and a spoiled mini-lop rabbit that lives in a slightly gnawed cardboard cottage.
