Book Description

Twelve years ago, sixteen-year-old Jade Rowley bared her heart to Liam Latimer, her best friend’s brother. Rejected and left behind when he moved away, she built her future without him.

Her carefully structured life falls apart after the breakup of her engagement, leaving her shaken and desperate for a change of scene. Her best friend’s struggle with cancer makes it an easy choice to move to California.

Meeting Liam again only proves what she has known all along. The years that passed since their last encounter haven't changed anything. Their lives are certainly too far apart to reclaim the strange connection that made her fall in love with him in the first place. Successful and well established, he seems even more out of reach than before. Against her better judgment, Jade allows herself to get closer and is shocked to find out that Liam carries a burden of guilt that explains his adamant opposition to love and relationships. As hopeless as it seems, leaving isn’t an option as she decides to fight for the man she loves.

And this time she isn't ready to retreat…

Will her love be enough to save Liam?

I read this book on my kindle which is so much easier to make it read books. Mary Carter  |  10 reviewers made a similar statement
I enjoyed the book -- but there was far too much descriptive writing and not enough dialogue for me. Missingnovelist  |  10 reviewers made a similar statement
The story was good and the author did a good job of developing her main characters. Janice K Hurst  |  4 reviewers made a similar statement

3.0 out of 5 stars Way-Too-Long...a three word summary. January 29, 2012
By POIA
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
First let me say that I actually liked this book and found the premise, character development and storytelling to be believable and enjoyable with one important exception; this book could lose 1/3 of its length and be better off for it. Like other books of its ilk, it seems the authors believe that by continuing the teasing storyline almost into the next century, they will keep your attention when, really, nothing could be further from to truth. Get on with it already!!! Seriously! We all know how it is going to end (usually). So get on with it! The only other thing I have a problem with is the use of spell check as an editing device...example: blood doesn't "CURSE" through your veins when you are sexually excited and if it does...perhaps you are with the wrong partner. It's a correct word, with an incorrect usage; add enough of those together in one story and it becomes frustrating. In any event, the book wasn't horrible, just horribly long; but if you like your romance novels really drawn out, this is the one for you.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute book, nice for a break from reality February 23, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I found this book to have a certain twist to a typical love story. There were a few moments that really surprised me, but over all it was your typical story line. It was a nice book to read before bed every night and you cant really beat a book for $.99. If I had paid anymore for thids book I would be highly disappointed but it was worth what I paid.

Now just to make others aware, I have a few things that really bothered me about this book.
1.) The author tends to forget pieces of information she has already told you, or figures you are really forgetful. I cant remember how many times I was reminded that Liam's mom was a fashion designer.
2.) The way the main character Jade talks about Liam becomes rather annoying. I understand she loves him and all but she is supposed to be 28. The way she talks about him makes her sound like she is 15.
3.) Jade constantly pretended like she didn't want to see Liam. Now this factor paired with the one I just mentioned makes no sense. She is completely infatuated with him but everytime she sees him, we have to listen to her say she wanted to get away from him.
4.) She has these weird moments when she would be talking to someone and in the middle of the conversation there would be like five paragraphs of her flashing back. Like these people she is speaking with are somehow always okay with her spacing out.
5.) The whole book Jade is the annoying girl who constantly puts herself down and says how horrible she looks compared to Liam.
6.) It feels like someone different wrote the ending of the book. Once they actually get together it moves very fast and there are a lot more plot twists.
7.) Liam's sister has breast cancer, and it seems that if you are going to bring something THAT huge in to the mix, you shouldn't have your main characters be so nonchalant about it. It was like they remembered occasionally.

The things I pointed out are very nit picky. I enjoyed the book over all (I can normally find interest in anything). Worth the $.99.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and interesting January 10, 2012

I enjoyed pretty much everything about this book, from the first page to the very end. I liked the characters a lot, especially Liam. Definitely makes me want to review my own crushes from my teenage years:) Otherwise I blazed through the book at record speed, finishing it way too fast. I wish there was a sequel.

Not a very great read. A little too amateur. Junk food reading mainly. Too much explanation and quickly jumping to next levels.

I did not enjoy this book really. It was lacking action; and the romanse was a bit old fashioned and dorky. I read this book quickly and couldn't wait until it was over. Read more
