Amazing CD!,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: A Silver Lining (Audio CD)
I haven't heard their first CD so I can't compare this to that, however, this CD by itself is amazing! I haven't even had it for twenty four hours and I've already listened to it at least four times. It is a really easy and good listen. I will listen to it and it will be over and I'll think "wow, that seemed to go by really fast" I know with some other albums that I have I wait for them to be over but not with this one! This is an amazing CD! My favorites would be; Woke Her Up, Should Have Been and Come Back, however it is all good! You won't regret buying it.

We Shot the Moon- A Silver Lining [crobsession.tumblr.com],
This review is from: A Silver Lining (Audio CD)
Last year, we were able to hear an album from what remains of Waking Ashland as a new band called We Shot the Moon, comprised of Jonathan Jones-Waking Ashland's former lead vocalist-and a new group of band members. It seems that they've floated under the radar for the most part, despite their former band's success. Jones's unique voice and blend of piano rock deserves more attention than it has, and their sophomore album, A Silver Lining, might be one that puts them on many people's maps and very high on a list of 2009's best.
"Miracle" kicks things off with an enjoyable pop-rock track, combining melodic piano with their youthful sound. From the start, you can tell that his album is a bit different from their debut. It has a bit of a more epic feel than the indie sound that made Fear and Love a good album. It isn't hard to notice that We Shot the Moon stepped it up a notch to make a great album. Earlier this year, We Shot the Moon released a sampler of the new album for free on their website. The sampler contained the songs "Woke Her Up," "The Bright Side," and "Come Back," all of which highly impressed me. Good move on the band's part for releasing it for free, because without it I wouldn't have been so excited for this album. It was a long wait, knowing that A Silver Lining would include such amazing songs as these. And it turned out to be an album in which every song seems to stand out in one way or another. The song "Should Have Been" is another fun one, containing a lot of electronic sounds, like what was found in a few tracks on the debut. "Red Night" has lyrics that help to encourage, such as most tracks on A Silver Lining. Jones sings, "For if this world should end tonight/ I'll be by your side." "Silver Lining" and "Amarillo" follow suit in this theme. Some might find "In Good Time" to be easily confused with Fear and Love's "Perfect Time," but are both excellent songs. We Shot the Moon may not have lyrics that talk about God, but the encouraging aspect of the music really stands out. There are the songs about relationships that nearly every band nowadays has, but they're unique. Jones has a voice that sounds very original, despite their sound being slightly cliche. I think We Shot the Moon deserves more recognition than they have, but I'm sure they see a silver lining somewhere. Their sophomore album has set up this band for success, and it's only a matter of time.

Another Fine Release,
This review is from: A Silver Lining (Audio CD)
No matter what Jonathan Jones puts out, it never disappoints. This new album by We Shot The Moon, is his best effort. I think he is starting to find his sound, and mixes the rock and piano rock music well in this album. The lyrics and music are, personally, the best ever. It isn't a big jump in sound compared to 'Fear And Love' but it is a nice progressive. Definately worth picking up.
Sounds Like: Sherwood, Melee, Fielding
