Book Description

22-year-old Luke steps into the sandy world of a war-torn country for a second time, but this tour of duty is unlike any he has ever experienced. With no women to satiate his most primitive needs, he allows a fellow marine to give him a little love. That one, sinful act opens Pandora's Box and plunges Luke into a world he never knew existed.

Keeping his newly discovered love for men under wraps is essential -- having it leak out among his entire platoon would be disastrous. But as Luke finds out, not all is fair in love and war.

This story is 5500 words long.

3.0 out of 5 stars Soldier's First June 16, 2014

Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Ok I like the concept of the book, but I think it could have been done in one book. The author next two books are 19 & 20 pages, which I won't be buying. I don't think authors should sale the books 20 pages at a time. If it takes an author months to put together 20 pages they are in the wrong business.

Let me tell you I read this book first...and before my coffee was finished brewing I was done. It ended so quickly I looked at my kindle and said WHAT JUST HAPPENED. well the book ended...and then came book 2 which was just as bad and ended with much disappointment. Don't bother it isn't worth it.

2.0 out of 5 stars 17 pages .... really! June 25, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The whole trilogy is less than 60 pages. I don't appreciate these drug deal, give em a taste, kind of stories. Wow me with your writing and I will comeback begging for more, but do not try to hook me with these shallow, limp, lifeless tidbits and expect me to pay for more. The story has potential, but drop the sample size and give us the real deal.

3.0 out of 5 stars Why? June 4, 2014

Why do authors feel they have to break stories up into shorts. Just give me it all. Loved this one but really hate it leaves you hanging. Such good characters, shame it's half a book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not impressed.... July 9, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Short stories can produce a lot of depth without a lot of prose but this one was just missing something for me. I liked how it ended but I am not too crazy about spending more than $0.99 on the next story in the serial.

I just cannot wrap my head around spending $2.99 on 20 or so pages. That is just ridiculous! Plus most of those pages are just advertisements for other books. I always feel cheated by these serial short stories. Why not just take your time edit and then release the story as a complete full length book and charge $4.99 or $5.99 for it? Your are more likely to develop a loyal fan base and readers will respect you more as an author.

But back to the story...not entirely unrealistic but uncharacteristically accepting. The characters adapt too quickly to their attraction to one another especially Mr. Straight guy Luke. I am so tired of the cliche Trent as well, "typical" strange guy who has never made sense to be a soldier...gay of course because what else would he be and everyone is supposed to be ok with the typical plot.

Surprise me for once!!! Make the super masculine guy the one who is comfortable with being gay and open about it. Authors really have to start thinking outside of their gender roles box.

I will not be buying any more of this series unless they are free or maybe if they finally come all together in a reasonably priced bundle.

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay, Leaves You Hanging June 21, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This isn't a badly written story, even with a misused word here and there. I did have an issue with a character confessing to his buddy that he's gay and in the very next breath pleading for sex with him. I just couldn't quite buy into the abruptness of it. For free it's an okay read; at the suggested price of 99 cents it would be disappointing since the story cuts off at a dramatic moment. As a stand alone story it would be a rip-off. It's obviously meant to interest readers in parts 2 and 3 which sell for $2.99 and aren't very long for the price. While there's nothing wrong with serializing a novel, the writer has to give value in exchange for selling portions of a book in order to keep the reader hooked. Part 1 here isn't wonderful enough to inspire me to buy the next installments, especially when there are whole novels available for free or 99 cents that are much better.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hot erotic soldier story - but only part 1 July 7, 2014
By MickeyT
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Nice start to the story. Part one is free and then if you want to read the whole story you have to buy two other editions at $2.50 each. Might as well buy a paperback book with the price some of these authors/Amazon is charging for Kindle books.

3.0 out of 5 stars how to rate July 5, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I'm not too sure how to rate this book. It's my first read in the lgbt books. The story could have had a bit more depth.
