Book Description

August 1, 2012
The Sweethaven Circle is back -- and so is a friend they thought they'd never see again!

The women of Sweethaven are enjoying an Indian summer when their old friend -- the missing member of their scrapbook circle -- arrives back home. Meghan Rhodes has moved on with her life, leaving Sweethaven and its painful memories in the past. But when her ex files for custody of their twins, she takes the first flight back to the beach town full of haunting memories. Meghan wants to make things right with her ex-husband, her children, and the friends she'd convinced herself she no longer needed. But is she too late? Meghan works with friends Jane, Lila, Adele, and Campbell to begin a new scrapbook for memories yet to be made. Picking up where A Sweethaven Summer left off, A Sweethaven Homecoming explores the strong bonds of friendship, the power of forgiveness, and the importance of unconditional love.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Real WINNER August 6, 2012
Format:Paperback
Let me start out by saying I have read Courtney's first book A Sweethaven Summer and I loved it. I read it in three hours. Well I could not wait to get A Sweethaven Homecoming I knew it was going to be great. I read it straight though I could not put it down and I just cant say enough about this book. If you love books about forgiveness and stories of wonderful friendships, then you will love this book as much as I did. I felt like I was part of The Circle, I love the friendships and the love that pours out in this book. Courtney writes with heart and soul. I am however a little sad I have to wait until October for the next book A Sweethaven Christmas. I was thinking when I read page 324 which by the way is the last page, I should give her 4 stars for making me wait for the next book. I just can't do that this is a 5 star book I will reread this book again. I read this book a few days ago and I can't stop thinking about all of the friends in this book. If you only read two books this year make sure they are the Sweethaven books!

5.0 out of 5 stars heartachingly poignant tale August 18, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
In this second book in the Sweethaven trilogy, Courtney Walsh takes you on an amazing journey through heartache, forgiveness and the meaning of unconditional love. For me, A Sweethaven Homecoming reaffirms that what you see on the surface of a person is a far cry from the turmoil brewing beneath and what you think you know about a person may be quite different from what motivates or drives their actions. There's a saying that "actions speak louder than words"...but sometimes those actions can be misleading.

By the end of the book, Courtney will have you rethinking what it means to forgive and question your preconceived notions of love. Though this book focuses primarily on Meghan's story and Lila's relationship with her husband, all the other characters you know and love from the first book are featured as well. This "must read" book of the summer is sure to leave its indelible mark on your heart and haunt your thoughts while eagerly awaiting the 3rd book, A Sweethaven Christmas, which isn't due to be released until October (how are we supposed to wait?!!). Readers beware...keep a tissue box handy, because this book is a tear jerker!

5.0 out of 5 stars Not your average sequel August 13, 2012
Format:Paperback
I read Courtney's first book in this series, and loved it. I am typically disapponted by sequels, but this one blew away my expectations. She has a way of writing that helps you understand the characters and not want to put the book down.

This book highlights scenarios that most of us can relate to. I love how the theme of unconditional love is woven throughout the book.

I read it in a day, and look forward to the next one in October!

5.0 out of 5 stars What a great book! August 15, 2012
Format:Paperback
What a great book! Courtney Walsh has done a fantastic job of telling the story of five friends and the summer they spend in the small town of Sweethaven. The author develops these characters so that the reader feels right along with the characters when something happens.
Meghan is a country music star, recovering alcoholic, divorced mother. She heads home to Sweethaven when she thinks her ex-husband is trying to gain full custody of their children. However, Meghan still has much guilt and shame for events from her past that still haunt her and play a part in how she acts and reacts in various situations. Sometimes she feels the best way to protect her kids is to stay away from them because she is such a bad mother in her eyes. Her best friend hasn't spoken to her in six years, and won't forgive Meghan for the past. Can anyone love her just as she is?
Campbell is a young woman who comes to Sweethaven filled with dreams of the perfect summer of spending time with her boyfriend, Luke, who is also Meghan's brother, scrapbooking with her mother's friends, and sunning at the beach. However, when she arrives in Sweethaven, she finds things don't turn out the way she had them planned. Her mother has died, and she only knows her father by name. She hopes to spend time with him in Sweethaven. Will she be able to build a relationship with her grandfather, who disowned his daughter when she became pregnant with Campbell out of wedlock? Why is Luke so preoccupied and not spending any time with her? Does she have a future in Sweethaven?
Adele is Meghan's mother and had been good friends with Campbell's mother. She and her daughter have a very strained relationship.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyed it! August 13, 2012
By JoyAnne
Format:Paperback
The stories of four women and the issues they'e dealing with in their lives, I liked every one of the characters and the friendship they shared. Meghan and Jane had an especially sweet renewal of their friendship. A wonderful story of forgiveness. Meghan was watching Jane's son and he accidentally died, she blamed herself and Jane wasn't able to forgive at first.

There is so much depth to the book. The author's writing style is smooth, she really makes you feel as though you are part of the story! I loved this book.

I received a copy of this book free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Fantastic Sweethaven Escape! August 8, 2012
Format:Paperback
This book has it all! New romance, old love, and rekindled passion are all expertly intertwined with a group of friends coming home. They each have their own struggles to work through and their own successes to celebrate as they remember their past and learn to rely on each other once again for the future.

I find myself thinking of the women of Sweethaven and wondering what they might be up to and whose house they would be hanging out in. There are so many stories wrapped into one big story and I love that it feels like I got to be part of their circle and a part of each of their lives for a bit. Each woman is at a different point in their own lives and the raising of their families which gives them their own unique life perspective. It's through these different views that I know every reader can identify with some of the ladies heartaches and laugh at some of their honest thoughts, feelings and reactions. Things that we have all thought, done, felt or said, at times to our own horror, but it's life and we can laugh at the ladies of Sweethaven and at ourselves. I have a feeling that these ladies would be the type to get together and make each other laugh so hard they "pee a little." (Oh yes, you know what I mean.) Those are usually the best times spent with friends and it was so fun to be a part of the Sweethaven Circle. So much so that I truly didn't want the book to end.

This book is the kind that makes you stay up a little to late because you have to read "just one more page!" Those are the books worth reading. The books worth recommending....and I highly recommend this book!
