From the very first chapter, this book had me captivated. I wanted to know more about these girls, their summers together, and why they drifted apart. The characters were well developed, and their stories were both heartbreaking and beautiful. I love the setting of a small, beach town, and I think we all long to stay in a place like that to escape the craziness of life.

Courtney has a great way of capturing your heart and wanting to experience the relationships that these girls had. A Sweethaven Summer will take you back to memories of times when all that mattered was being with the people you cared about. She'll also remind you that unconditional friendships are something to be treasured.

This was a quick read, and a heartwarming story. I can't wait for the second book in the series! I would highly recommend this book!

I've had this book on my list of MUST reads since before it was published and FINALLY bit the bullet yesterday and bought it! I can't believe I waited so long! As a scrapbooker/paper crafter, it's hard not to feel a tug in your heart when Cam finds the pages which lead her to Sweethaven. The characters, the plot, everything was so well thought out and written that I couldn't put it down. Four hours after diving in I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of the second book! I cannot wait to see where the story continues!

A Sweethaven Summer is a stunning debut. I fell in love with the characters and the charming lakeside town of Sweethaven and didn't want to leave. With a voice that sparkles, Courtney Walsh captured my heart in this tender story of forgiveness and new beginnings. It's certainly a great beginning for this talented author.

I've found another favorite author! This book stands up to the reviews given because it has been a little difficult finding good Christian novels without too much sappiness. LOL!!

If you are looking for mystery, romance and real people then this is it. I found myself really caring about all the individuals in this book. The story was solid and strong and the characters had a history you could follow and it reminded us that we are are nowhere near perfect! There is also a good lesson on friendships.

Thanks Courtney for this wonderful book and I look forward to your next one!

Story about a young woman whose mother dies without revealing who the woman's father is. She goes to her mom's childhood vacation town to seach for who it might be. She meets her mom's friends etc. I wanted more. Too simple. I continued to read. Why? It was okay.

This book, published by Guideposts, is a typical story published by this company. You'll know everything is squeaky clean about the story, but it's mainly a easy, slow read and very predictable. Nice to give as a gift, but not for serious fiction readers of a church library. I'm not that intrigued to read the 2nd book

A Sweethaven Summer was a decent and quick read. Overall I enjoyed the story, however there were times I got caught up in the author's inexperienced writing. It wasn't bad per say, just not amazing. I did enjoy the story, though some parts were a little predictable. If you are looking for a quick vacation or beach read this is your book.

I am not jumping up to purchase another book by the author or read the sequel, however if they go on sale like this book did I probably would buy and read another.
