This author knows her dogs well. She develops these stories with a great talent for the written word. If you love dogs, you will love these short stories!

Three short stories about - you guessed it - dogs: a widower who finds solace in adopting a dog; a woman who gambles to keep her and her beloved companion from homelessness; and a woman's anguish over a mal-treated animal.

Rebecca Stroud is a master at telling a story without wasting any words. She nails the descriptions and emotions of her characters with her clean, concise writing. Her superb editing makes her stories true pleasures to read. Another beautiful job, Ms Stroud.

This collection of (too) short stories will appeal to everyone - not just those who love dogs.

But, I have to warn potential readers to be prepared to shed more than a few tears, and to be prepared for more than a few surprises.

This book touched my heart..............it truly did!!!!

Author REBECCA STROUD loves dogs -and they love her.

A THREE DOG NIGHT is three short . . . too short . . . stories that will make you cry and cry and cry. You will think back to every dog you've ever had the privilege and honor to have loved and been loved by.

FIVE STARS (PLUS) for three very touching stories.

I downloaded this book a long time ago but I've only just got around to reading it. And I'm very glad that I've read it. The dog-human relationship has been described in many ways. It's usually the dog's job to tug at the heart strings. However, what the writer explores here, in broad, confident strokes of a master painter of words, is the extent of love and responsibility that a human being can have for a dog.
Like all the best writing, these short stories do not end when you close the book. They stay with you and work insiode you forever.

This collection of three short stories involving dogs was well-written and charming. My favorite was PRIORITIES--a twist of a story that leaves you smiling and feeling good at the end of it. Nicely done.

I liked this set of tales. Short and to the point..the only one I had issues with was the final one...it seemed rushed...otherwise solid little tales

What a wonderful collection of dog stories!

Rebecca Stroud captured my attention with DO UNTO OTHERS, but solidifies her position as a quintessential writer of animal stories with this collection of three short stories. Any animal lover will highly enjoy these tales. GABRIEL was my personal favorite.

Too short but worth reading. I thought it was going to be a novel. Not 3 short, short stories! To short!
