Book Description

Ex-Chicago detective Lilly D'Angelo is part of a secret alien race living on Earth. With a gentle caress she can elevate the sexual energy of any male. Apprehending criminals lost in an erotic fugue is almost too easy--until she uses her gift on the wrong alien. Kidnapped and shipped into deep space, Lilly barely escapes with her life. Now she travels the galaxy alone, working as a bounty hunter and hoping to find a soul mate unaffected by her touch.

Agent Dallas Sawyer works for QAL--deep space's version of the FBI. After a disastrous mission that left a president murdered, his team member executed and Dallas near death, he's determined to take down the assassin targeting government officials. When a sexy human female gets between him and his goal, Dallas and his alien partner find themselves on the receiving end of some wild sex and a proposition that may very well blow up in their faces.

*** READER ADVISORY:  This book contains explicit sexual interaction betwen two hot-as-hell males and a woman looking for love.  No aliens were harmed in the writing of this story.  ***

5 RAVENS and RECOMMENDED READ, Blackraven's Reviews ~ While the erotic part of the book had sizzling sex scenes and intense moments between the heroine and heroes, it also stroked this closet sci-fi fanatic's heart.

5 STARS and REVIEWER'S TOP PICK, Night Owl Reviews ~ The action is almost non-stop in this book and the emotions that the characters are experiencing come across as genuine and heartfelt.

5 STARS, Siren Book Reviews ~ You will enjoy the ménage à trois between Lilly, Thaegan, and Dallas. Their love scenes are erotic and hot. The three characters complement one another and have an easy camaraderie...

There's hot loving here, but it doesn't take over the story. And the ending is a surprise...If you are a Deep Space Nine or a Star Trek kind of reader, you will find this story to your liking.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Really Hot Book! June 25, 2011

This story had an unusual but hot and interesting menage of characters. The sexy plotline involving Lilly's unique gift was well-crafted. I liked the way the story unfolded.

Her touch can bring a man to his knees, even the one man who isn't affected by her gift at all. Lilly D'Angelo was born with a gift that has been more of a curse for most of her life. Lilly has the ability to manipulate male hormones which she doesn't hesitate to use for pleasure, persuasion, or her own protection. She's not prepared to meet a man who is simply turned on by her and not for what she can do to him.

After an explosive first meeting that has Lilly and QAL agent, Dallas Sawyer, working off some sexual tension, Lilly is convinced that Dallas's attention is influenced by her ability just like every other man she literally comes in contact with. Little does she know Dallas isn't like every other man she's met. I can't tell you his secret or that would give too much of the story away. Read the book!

Dallas's partner and best friend is Thaegan, an alien that closely resembles humans except for his bright red skin. While Thaegan isn't immune to Lilly's charm he is able to shed some light on her abilities and even control his lust when the three come together for the first time.

This was a very fast paced little novella. Lilly was pretty likable as a heroine with a heavy burden to work thru. Who wouldn't have some angst after being kidnapped and sold to a slave trader on another planet, right? She comes off as severely independent but you just know she is hoping by some miraculous event to find a man immune to her gift. Like Lilly, Dallas has some issues to work thru that have bruised his self-confidence as a leader.

If you're in the mood for a little sci-fi alien mojo that will scorch your e-reader, you will love A Touch Of Lilly! I think you'll agree that Ms. Pierce has a very talented voice for menage as well as out of this world action/adventure.

"Girlfriend, I have no idea how to rate this novel."

"What the heck? You're supposed to be some kind of expert."

"An expert in sex? Do you think any man in his right mind is skilled in the art of seduction? Many have tried--"

Holds up her hand. "I see your point. There's really no need to embarrass yourself further, even if you do write these reviews for what must be your own entertainment."

"But people actually read them. I get helpful votes and comments--"

"And you can wish and hope and dream, but that doesn't mean you're actually going to reach your goals." Pauses to look at her hands. "So let's get to the skinny before I need to have my nails done."

"Well, there was sex."

"Porn has sex. Was it the good kind? Filled with emotional buildup and payoff and romantic nomenclatures and heat and seduction and equally strong men and women?"

"Ummm, maybe I need to consult a thesaurus."

"For the love of rainbows and unicorns, you're killing me." Slaps her forehead. "You know, this isn't your first erotica novel, right?"

"True, but this was my first erotica novel set in space."

"Is that any different?"

"Well...probably not. But there was a Seraphelium."

"What the heck is that?"

"She controls the male libido and endorphins with just her touch. She can also amplify and harness the energy around her. And she has a sexual aura that would bring Rambo to his knees."

"And all the sci-fi geeks utter a collective sigh right before downloading this novel onto their iPads, Kindles, Kobos and Nooks." Another pause while she scratches her head. "But was there an actual story?"

"I think so."

"What do you mean, think?

3.0 out of 5 stars So Hot it Burned Out September 23, 2013

I really liked Nina Pierce's Healer's Garden and decided to give this book a try. Unfortunately, it didn't have the depth of character, plot, emotion or tension so abundant in Healer's Garden. And maybe that is a little unfair of a comparison because this book is 100 pages shorter. But Pierce still brings plenty of imagination. This book reminded me a little of Star Wars, with the tavern filled with aliens and the roguishness of Dallas as a great stand-in for Han Solo. And sidekick Thaegan is a heck of a lot more appealing than a Wookie.

The description says there is a "whole lot of passionate sex" and that is right. The sex scenes really overwhelmed the plot to the point that I felt cheated on what was set up to be a great story. The beginning of the book was very good, but the ending was rushed.

Lilly, Dallas and Thaegan are likeable, but the angst of Lilly and Dallas and their situations seemed forced. I just couldn't get vested in their emotions. Maybe because the sex was so incendiary that the emotion just got burned out.

More About the Author

USA Today bestselling author, Nina Pierce, grew up in a house full of readers, so becoming enamored with books was only natural. She discovered romance stories in her early teens, falling hopelessly in love with knights in shining armor and the damsels who saved them.

Eventually, reading about fated loves and soul mates wasn't enough. She now spends her days at the keyboard writing her own stories, blissfully creating chaos for her characters by throwing in a villain or two, a little murder and a whole lot of mayhem as they struggle toward their happy-ever-after.

Nina resides in New England with her high school sweetheart and soul mate of thirty years and several very spoiled cats who consider her "staff". When she's not writing she enjoys spending time with her three grown children, one love-sick son-in-law and a heart-melting grandson.
