Great new Blues/Rock/ Folk artist, September 14, 2009
This review is from: A Town Called Blue (MP3 Download)
Listening through this album made me think of the first time I sat and listened to John Mellencamp. I just felt good listening to him and I feel the same way about this album. Evan Watson's voice is soulful and raw, it is what really makes him unique. His breathy delivery allows him to sound personal and empathetic one moment then edgy and weathered the next. I would recommend this album to anyone and look forward to more music from Evan Watson.

Modern blues meets Classic Rock, September 17, 2009
This review is from: A Town Called Blue (MP3 Download)
I was pleasantly surprised when I listened to Evan's album. Throughout college I saw him perform John Mayer and Eric Clapton-like songs which were great; but his original work has so much more power and soul. There is a lot of variation within this album (the southern blues/soul feel of Latitude to the early 70s rock feel of Face These Things Alone) but when grouped together, the collection makes a cohesive whole that reflects not only Evan's talents, but also, passion for music. I would recommend this album to anyone who enjoys blues, rock, and soul. It has a little more "umph" than your regular coffee shop music, a little less twang than your regular bluegrass music, and all of the right elements to make it an awesome debut album.

Takes me to a differnt place, September 22, 2009
This review is from: A Town Called Blue (MP3 Download)
The combination of Evan's lyrics and emotional guitar speak to the grey areas between the simple sweet glory days and the gritty pursuit of satisfaction in a very different world. Every track on this album takes me back to a different place that satisfies my restless soul.
