what's the point of a by-the-numbers cover album from a band as adventurous as sigh? venom are theoretically a great band to cover because their material is so simple and fun that they provide a palette that's easy for other artists to personalize, but the only thing here that differs at all from the original material is the ambient interlude "mayhem with mercy." this doesn't even have the lead vocalist singing (the saxophonist does), which would at least provide an air of familiarity.

venom were great, sigh are great, this is a banal filler release.
