About the Author

Joey W. Hill’s erotic romances, both paranormal and contemporary, have earned a unique place in the genre with their memorable characters and exceptional emotional depth. She is the author of the Knights of the Boardroom series including Honor Bound and Controlled Response, and the Vampire Queen series including Taken by a Vampire and Bound by the Vampire Queen. A recipient of multiple Top Reviewer Picks from Romantic Times, Night Owl Romance, ParaNormal Romance Reviews, TwoLips and others, she has been nominated for the Romantic Times 2009 Career Achievement Award in Erotica.

More About the Author

An RT Book Reviews Career Achievement Award recipient in Erotic Romance, Joey W. Hill has well over thirty titles available in contemporary and paranormal erotic romance. Her characters include everything from vampires, mermaids, witches and angels, to boardroom executives, cops and simple housemaids.

Free excerpts from all her works are available at www.storywitch.com, and additional vignettes, character interviews and graphics inspired by the work are at the fan forum site, accessible via www.storywitch.com/community. Subscribe to her newsletter from her home page and receive the latest info about appearances and releases.

Though much of her work is BDSM, she has built her reputation on award-winning romances with absorbing characters who not only attract fans of the genre, but readers who would "never" read BDSM romance. "Whatever genre you're writing, if the characters are compelling and sympathetic, the readers are going to want to see what happens to them. It can be the coolest storyline ever, but if the reader could care less whether the hero or heroine survive (in fact, in some cases they may be rooting for their destruction just so they can be done with the darn thing), then it's not a story worth reading."

When a human male and a female vampire find common ground, a bond is formed that blazes the trail to a more substantial emotion - love.

Both Dev and Lady Daniela have lost their families. Each is alone in the world, with no one to rely on but themselves. That is, until they meet each other. From their very first encounter, the attraction between them is undeniable. Of course, neither of them really tries to deny it, lol.

Beyond the physical attraction, however, they soon realize there is something more between them, something lasting.

Lady Daniela stirs every protective instinct that alpha male Devlin has. But Daniela is a born vampire, and is normally quite capable of protecting herself. When an attempt on her life is barely thwarted, however, she realizes the time has come for her to take a vampire servant. Marking Dev would not only strengthen her, but would cement the connection between them in the most permanent of ways.

The question is whether Dev can submit to Lady Daniela as a servant to a vampire must? Failure in this area can mean certain death to him and worse, possibly to the woman he loves should her enemies see her as weak.

Joey W. Hill delivers the third tale in her VAMPIRE QUEEN saga, A VAMPIRE'S CLAIM. This story takes us back in time to when Lady Daniela and Dev first met. Readers were first introduced to this charismatic couple in the previous story, THE MARK OF THE VAMPIRE QUEEN, and I was delighted to learn this new book explores their relationship.

Both Dev and Lady Daniela are heartbreaking characters. Each carries the pain of lost loved ones with them, and that pain draws them together as surely as their sexual desire does.

This book is third in the Vampire Queen series and is great. IN the begining I was not sure if it was going to be as good as the first two, but keep going. I quickly fell in love with Lady Danny and Dev. And of course Hill's erotic love scences are like no one elses. Once again she has set the bar even higher.
This book is an amazing read.

Vampire's Claim is the story of Lady Daniela and Devlin who were secondary characters in Joey's wonderful story, The Mark of the Vampire Queen.

Devlin is on walkabout. He's lost his family and in some ways his soul and no longer spend much time around anyone. He stops at a friends bar for a drink and meets Lady Daniela who has come back to Australia to reclaim her families station. She and Dev spends one passionate and very erotic night together and a bond starts to form between them. Lady D has never taken and human servant and Dev has not had a relationship since he lost his family. Dev decides to stay to help Lady D get safely to her place and what transpires is an action filled adventure full of fierce battles, erotic love scenes and the healing of hearts.

Whenever I read a Joey Hill book I am transported to another world, her storytelling is so compelling. This is another wonderful story in her Vampire series and so far this is my favorite one in the series. Highly recommended!

Devlin spots a woman too good to be true, but takes her up on an offer for a night of passion anyway. Dev figures he'll head back to the bush after his evening of lust, but a bad feeling has him following her to make sure she survives the journey home.

Lady Daniela headed home to take back what belongs to her. Being born a vampire it should be easy to take back what is hers because born vampires are revered in her world, but someone stands in her way.

When she meets Devlin there is a pull and she marks him in case she wants to find him again, resisting the urge to claim him as her full servant. When he rescues her, the two go on a journey of discovery and retribution.

Will Lady Daniela claim the man as hers? Will she give him a choice or will it be taken away from her?

A Vampire's Claim had me in its thrall. Joey W. Hill pulled me in and didn't let me go until the bitter end and even then I wanted more. This is the third book in the series, but the first one I've read. I was not confused in the least and enjoyed A Vampire's Claim from the first word. Ms. Hill didn't pull punches with her vampires. She is upfront with the violence these creatures hold. I think that is one of the things I loved. Too many vampire stories focus on making the creatures something they aren't. Ms. Hill let me know right away that the vampires will kill and it wasn't going to be some bad guy to make them feel better. The innocent aren't protected in some code the vampires have. They are ruthless, but there is something about them that makes you want more.

Daniela is still young for a vampire and judged like a teen or young adult by her peers. She's grown since she left home and has a lot to prove.

A Vampire's Claim tells the somewhat dark journey of Dev and Danny. Dev and Danny come from totally different backgrounds. However, together they give each other the love needed to escape the loneliness. I love Dev. He is protective and tough but will do anything to make Danny happy. There is also a sweetness to Dev. Danny is also protective and tough just in a different way. She will do anything to protect what is hers. The bond that develops between Danny and Dev is both touching and heart wrenching at the same time. The love scenes hot.

Joey transports you into the vampire world. You become part of the story. You cry, laugh, hurt, and love with her characters. Like with all of Joey's books, I read this book in one sitting. A Vampire's Claim can be read as a standalone. However, the book updates you on the other characters in the series.
