After spending the night with an old friend, poor Mim wakes up with him dead beside her. This begins a series of several odd happenings that prove to Mim that someone is out to get her. But why? With a handsome cop who mysteriously wants to help take care of her, Mim's got a lot more to deal with than bullets!

This was such a fun cozy mystery to read! The characters all have depth and warmth. There's just the right amount of action to keep you reading. Though there are some gruesome scenes, it's not descriptive enough to give anybody a case of the willies. Throughout most of the book, we know what lies behind the mystery of the attacks on Mim, but the plot twist at the end is sure to drop the jaw of most readers. I had to reread it twice because I didn't see it coming. What I personally enjoyed most about the book is Mim's sense of humor. When she becomes agitated, she makes jokes. They're lame but pretty darn funny.

Wonderful Read September 28, 2011

Format:Kindle Edition
Chris Redding writes a murder mystery filled with twists and turns designed to keep you on the edge of your seat, regardless of whether you're wearing a kilt or not. Political interference, a fiesty and funny heroine and cops with their own agendas all make this story a fast and fun ride. I enjoyed the book and will not hesitate to read this author again.
