I really liked how the author made the characters seem so real and just how the story progressed.

I read this simply because it was recommended to me an I'm glad I did. I really liked how the author made the characters seem so real and just how the story progressed. I could feel the emotions of the people in the story and it drew me in.

A Winter Storm is the first book that I have read in a while and it was a great jumping off point for me to get back into a regular reading routine. The characters were developed very well and at a quick pace allowing the reader to become emotionally invested in the characters' lives. At times it may seem that it is a little drawn out, but every word has it's place to keep the reader in love with Grace, the main character. The descent from the climax, however, is neat and anything but drawn out. The thing to remember about this book is that it is basically a true story. It is a subject that occurs every day all over the world and needs literature like this to bring it to light so people can view it from a perspective other than "just the past." It definitely not the incoherent ramblings of an idiot. Only a callous, overinflated ego of a person would write such a review.

Loved the book, true heart and soul. Keep at your passion.

To the two yuppies with negative reviews: While you are certainly entitled to your own opinions please be a respectful human beings and not a pile of human excrement. Be constructive and encouraging do not act like ignorant school children throwing a fit. I challenge you to take up the undertaking of writing a book you pompous pricks.

Samatha Means gives us a well written story that honestly deals with a family secret. Characters are real and places and situations are easy to fall in love with or hate. If any one has experienced a family trauma or helps those who have, this book is a must read. Honest, uplifting and entertaining..very much enjoyed this book.

I sat down thinking "oh I want to start this book" about 4 hours later I had read the entire thing. I couldn't put it down. I went back and forth from laughing to mad to crying, anxiety and relief, love and hate and pretty much any emotion in between. This book was so well written that you can see yourself there watching the entire story unfold. It was so easy to read and so truthful and honest that it broke your heart and saved it all at the same time. It is a great book for anyone to read and I have recommended it to every friend and family member I have already! I can't wait for the next one!

While the story itself was good, the writing style and the lack of any editing made this book very difficult to read. The numerous grammar errors, punctuation mistakes, and confusing sentence structure distracted so much from the story that I almost put it down after the first chapter. I love to support new authors, but I would suggest that Ms. Means get a good, strict English teacher to help her out.
