A1 had come a long way in the music business since 1999. Their debut CD "Here We Come" had four top ten hit in the UK and a huge success all over the world. The second cd "The A List", a more R&B music style that had earmed two number one songs all over the UK. Finally their latest cd "Make It Good", they went to another direction to a more pop rock music. They played more instruments in this cd. With the Hit single "Caught In The Middle", A1 continues to further their carrer with their unique talent and love for music. A1 is not just another boyband, they don't stick to the same formula like the other boybands. Each album they released sound diferrent. It is not easy to break in America with a pop music but A1 could break all the barriers because of their raw talent. With seven selected songs from their prevoius cds. It gives us a taste of what A1 has got to offer America. A1 could do it all, they could play instruments, dance, sing, and write. What more can you ask.

So maybe this album has only 7 songs. Call it a sampler! If you're just getting into a1 then this album will do good for you. If you decide that you like them then buy their imports like their first album "Here We Come" and their second one "The A List" and then buy "Make It Good"
This CD features a mix of songs from all three of those albums. So don't expect this album to be a big whoo-ha for all you music lovers.
These guys have solid harmonies, best I've ever heard. I love their music, been loving it for a long time even before they hit the U.S. It's good they did because these guys deserve the credit.

1. Caught in the Middle - a big difference from their last album if you listened to their pop-like song "Same Old Brand New You"

2. Make It Good - Displays more of their great harmony

3. When I'm Missing You - shows just how good Ben can sing, high or low

4. Everytime - one of the best songs on their first album, this song really expresses how they feel and once again their harmony!

5. If I Can't Have You - once again what can I say? Their harmony says it all, when they sing the song just sounds excellent!

6. One More Try - Another good song from their 2nd album. You can really hear Christian's awesome guitar skills, love that and love the harmony!

7. Same Old Brand New You - This song has that pop edge to it, I think it's the one song that sounds like the most pop out of this whole album. It's a wonderful song. Just as catchy as the other ones.

Well hopefully this can help any new a1 fans, buy this CD as a small sampler. a1 is makin it good here in the U.S. so buy this CD, ok?!

The reason I only gave this release four stars is due to the fact that I have all of a1's U.K. cd's and quite a few cd singles and this offers nothing new. At the very least they could have included songs like Take on Me, Like a Rose, and Be the First to Believe. I mean really, these are songs that define who a1 are and how they have evolved. I really love this group and their music I just think the U.S is getting a raw deal with this "sampler" cd. In my opinion you should just check out Amazon.co.uk and get the good stuff.

Well you've got to love a1! Yes, I'm about to rave on about how much I love their music and such.
Yup, I've been a fan since the beginning! That was what, 1999? Yeah, I was watching Channel V and this sweet ballad comes on, "Everytime" with some of the cutest guys I had ever seen in my life!
Bump that~it's not the looks that make 'em awesome! It's their awesome talent! NO, they're not ANOTHER BOY BAND!! They're not trying to squeeze into the music scene with NSYNC or Backstreet Boys..
No, if they wanted to do that, they would've done that at the beginning without gaining their respect they've gotten from Europe, Asia, Africa...
These guys truly have a passion for music! They've composed all their songs, (with the exception of like a few of them which they co-wrote) and of course play their own instruments with the exception of one band member.
They've got the most solid and beautiful voices of any boy band I have ever heard in my life! When they harmonize it's just amazing to hear how such great singers they are.
Don't believe me? Listen to "Forever in Love" on their first album "Here We Come."
They've got a modern rock/pop edge to their new material in their new album "Make It Good" just listen to the song "Caught in the Middle."
This CD entitled "a1" is just a sampler, a small glance at their music for any of you who have just discovered a1!
Filled with their chart topping hits and new songs it's an awesome CD!
You've got to get their album "The A List" and "Here We Come" to get a look at what you missed out, because the U.S. doesn't always get to see big music sensations that hit only International radios and televisions!

You will not be disappointed, buy this CD it's out in stores, and it's wicked!

Hi, Ive been an a1 fan for 2 years now. Ive seen them change their style on their albums, the style in the clothes they wear and their over all style they have changed so much. The difference between all three albums is amazing and you can tell when they stopped being "Just another boy band". The album they have just debuted in the US has alot of effort from all three of their UK albums put in, so if you havent heard all three musical masterpieces you can get a taste of each. There arent as many songs as i thought there would be but they have worked so hard over the last few months they probably will give the US a great 2nd album when they are all refreshed. Trust me, its worth the wait. Songs like 'Make it good' and 'Same old Brand New You' will get you tapping your feet and nodding your head. But songs like 'Everytime' and 'Caught in the middle' will make you beleive in love i think. They write their own songs, play their own instruments, they are nice people and their very good looking. What more could you ask for? So but this album, it will make you dance it will make you cry and it will certainly take your breath away at how talented these four young musicians are. Fresh funky and full of Talent!The US dont know whats hit them....Yet...

Finally another album from my fave group, a1! Altough I live in Norway, I got the US album, and it's great! It's the same songs from the other a1 albums I have, but with the new versons, they sound more 'grown up'. You'll not regret buying this album! If you like the hit 'Caught in the middle', you'll love all the songs on this album! a1 even wrote the song 'When I'm missing you' to their fans, cause the meet all these nice people all the time. 'Same old brand new you', a1's second no1, is much cooler on this album. Buy it, and you'll never regret.
Keep the a1-pride alive!

a1 is just such good. I live in Norway and have all theire CDs and singles. And now I'm looking forward to the next CD which I think will be realsed to next year. All the songs they have are great. But I see that you which live in the US just have got 7 songs, too bad. You have not heard songs like "Like a rose" and "Learn to fly" and many others that are really good, but you have the best. In all of a1 songs they try to have an important message, and they have it really. If you don't have bought the CD now, so do it! You don't know what you miss!!

Although I don't own the American release CD, I do own all three of their UK CD releases, and I think these guys are absolute great. Their harmonies are awesome, their keyboard and guitar work is incredible, and the songs are outstanding -- ranging from sweet ballads to edgier pop/rock. I have to echo other reviewers who say, if you haven't heard A1 and you are looking for great pop music, give this "sampler" a try, then go order the UK imports for the complete sound package. You won't go wrong. A1 is their name, and it pretty well sums up their sound!

I've been an a1 fan for a couple years before they came to the US! I always wanted them to come here and release a single and an album, which they've done and I'm SO happy! Although I wish this album had more songs, at least they've got the goodies on it! I hope they get to be extremely successful as they have around the world. BUY THIS CD!

A1 is such an excellent group. I've actually been a fan of them before they came to America. The CD is pretty good, but the only bad thing is they should have put more tracks on it. I have two of their albums from the UK and they are smashing! I love every song on both CD's. That's why I'm simi disappointed that some of the songs didn't make it on this album because I know the American fans would fall in love with the lyrics and the vocals. And something that sets them apart from any other group is that they actually write 90% of their album. And that's pretty hard to come by these days. But all in all A1 has a promising future in America if they stick with us and give us sometime.
