According to John- original release. This group has a very tight sound. They sound somwehat like a cross between "jars of clay" and "switchfoot". Tremendous message in their music- wonderful lyrics. Vocals are excellent. Nice mix. Not overproduced but certainly not made out of a garage either! Their second release "Beyond What I see" is the best new album I've heard in 5 years!! Way to go guys!!

According to John is one of very few artists in the Christian music industry who can honestly say that nearly all of their music and lyrics have been written by them, they play all their own instruments, and most if not all of the lyrics to their songs have been pulled straight from scripture. That is what being a "missionary" in this ministry is all about. They are presenting the gospel in nearly every song and they are not just about putting on a good show. Their incredible talent and love of Christ is what makes them, in my opinion, one of the greatest bands of our generation.

When I first heard A2J in concert last year, they became my new favorite band. I'm the kind of person who switches favorite bands everytime I hear a new song. But, A2J has been my favorite band ever since that concert. The concert was at a church camp, and I have heard them at least 3 times in concert ever since. Everytime I have an even better, more spiritual, more meaningful experence than the time before. This album and "Beyond What I See" are the best albums I've ever heard. They never come out of my CD player! The members of this band are great to get to know personally, too. At camp, it's just the band and our church's youth group. They're REALLY GREAT people who live every day to the fullest, and please God in the process. If you never buy another CD again, buy this one. It's worth it.

You don't often get the privilege of listening to awesome melodies and musicianship and at the same time being ministered to by deep and thought provoking lyrics. A2J is an album that is full of songs that speak to people right where they are. These guys really seem to have a heart for God.

According To John is a fairly new band, yet from the sound of their debut, A2J, one would never guess that this was their first album. Fans of Jars of Clay and Caedmon's Call will appreciate the emphasis on guitar, yet the style is rockin' enough to keep even a Newsboys or Petra fan on their toes. The poetic and creative lyrics are based on the gospel of John, hence the name According to John. Check out the song "Blue Sedans" for a great song bound to be on the radio sometime. "The Rock" is an awesome, crunchy guitar number, and "Nothing Back" adds a tender, worshipful flavor to the album. That one was a favorite of Cassie Bernall (victim of high school shooting in Littleton, CO). This CD has a defined sound and style, yet enough variety to give it flavor. I'm All 4 1 for A 2 J!!!

I first heard According to John on the radio and immediately took a liking to their song "Justified". Later on I borrowed the CD from my friend and listened to it. I enjoyed every song the CD contained. Their sound is really great. I love how they can be edgy on one song and gentle on the next. Their tunes are well written and the lyrics are focused God. You can get so much out of their songs and experience something moving in the music. I definitely recommend this CD to everyone!

I just saw A2J at an Acquire the Fire and think they are AWESOME! I was not a huge fan of Christian music, but now I am. I think that they are totally awesome live and their CD is great! They're CD is heavy and soft at the same time! They are SOO nice and it is Matt's b-day this Saturday (April 1st)so pray for him (he's turning 18).

This album is great!!! I have seen this band play numurous times over the last 7 years and they have really turned out great albums and good concerts. I use to go see them at a place called Big House and their music really inspired me. The guys in the group are all great musicians and great men. The lyrical writing on this album is this best yet and it touches my heart. However, what is missing, and most fans will concer, is the musical writing from their original guitar player, Krase Widner. Do not get me wrong, this album rocks and John Waller (lead singer) does a good job of writing music, but get Krase back in the mix and "POW". - A loyal fan amoung many a UGA

these guys are awesome! I got to go to one of their concerts at holywahusa 2. They were awesome. Justified is one of the best songs I've ever heard. So is redeemed. You definitely have to get this cd. They're very into Christ to. I got to meet them and talk to each one of them for a while. They have songs that are heavy and some songs that are slow with acoustic guitars. they are a very well rounded group!! You've gotta get this cd!!!!
