5.0 out of 5 stars Cost effective
These batteries do not last quite as long as the alkalines from the top two brands. However, they will last about 85-90% of the big boys, depending on application, and they are a *lot* cheaper. That makes them a really good, cost-effective choice unless the device you are using them in has batteries that are difficult to change.

I installed 6 of these batteries in an LED light I had and they seemed to work well. When I tried to turn on the light 15 minutes later it did not work. I opened the battery compartment and found that 3 of these batteries had split open and had deposited an oily liquid in the battery compartment. Because the battery splits had just occurred I was able to clean up the...

I opened the battery compartment and found that 3 of these batteries had split open and had deposited an oily liquid in the battery compartment. Because the battery splits had just occurred I was able to clean up the mess with no damage the light. Cheap batteries or not, this still should not have happened.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not good for high-drain devices, April 25, 2008

I've used these in my pager with OK results; they would probably be OK in wall clocks or flashlights, but they are lousy in digital cameras. I tried some in my Olympus D-580 4MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom and I was able to take maybe 3 or 4 pictures before the camera thought the batteries were dead. If I waited a while, it could take a few more pictures.

I dug out my voltmeter, and it confirmed it. These batteries went from 1.6 volts down to 1.4 volts after a few shots in the camera. After 30 minutes, they recovered to 1.5 volts. The same test with standard Everready alkaline batteries dropped the voltage to only 1.5 volts, plenty of picture-taking power left, and they recovered back to 1.6 volts.

For those who are worried that they are buying "generic" batteries, worry not. Pleomax is just the brand name manufactured by Samsung (it's written right on the battery: 'a sensible bit of Samsung') and I far as I can tell, they work just as well as the more expensive store brands (i.e. duracell, energizer, etc). I have been using these in my Wii Remote controls and they do the job just fine. Highly recommended, especially for the price.

These batteries seem to last as long as Rayovac or similar brands in the toys we have used them in.

Frankly, I didn't do any measurements, and can't say to a second how long these batteries lasted in devices such as cameras, toys, etc. I just can tell you that the general feeling is that they're very good, they last long enough anywhere we used them. And when you buy a multipack, you simply can't beat the price. I definitely recommend these batteries.

These don't last quite as long as Duracell or Energizer, but if your looking for some cheap batteries to put in the kids toys, or a small low power item they will work just fine. For the length of use I've gotten out of these compared to other brands, this is a decent value.

So far so good. These batteries were very economical and seem to perform just as well as the duracell and energizer batteries. Highly recommended.

These batteries recently sold in the same value pack for about $7.00
FOR SOME REASON THE PRICE HAS NEARLY TRIPLED.
I hope the listed price is an error which will be corrected soon.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good value when you use a lot of batteries, December 4, 2009

I use A LOT of AA and AAA and always travel with spares (have you ever seen the price of four alkaline AA's at an airport? Murder!). I use them in flashlights, hiking GPS units, cameras, flashes, flashlights, light for my Kindle, a laser pointer and more, all of which I carry with me when traveling (yes TSA loves me). I use lithium AA's and AA's for the items that consume a lot of power and alkalines for the others. I was hoping that I would get three quarters of the life that I get out of the name brand alkaline batteries and these actually perform a little better.

The only other thing that I want to mention is that the prices seems to fluctuate here quite a bit. I would only purchase these when they are significantly lower in price than the sale price of Eveready's or Duracell's. Other than that I am sure that I will be buying these again.
