This review is from: AAA 250 PSI 12 Volt 6 In 1 Air Compressor (Sports)
I have only used this product once, and have the following comparisons to my previous similar compressor:
* It operates with greater stability and less vibration. The old one would fall over and spin in circles. * It may inflate tires faster. * The gage is too small to allow an accurate determination of the pressure, and is not accurate when compared to my digital gage. * The on/off switch is an improvement over the "on whenever plugged in" mode. * The cable-storage compartment is not too convenient. * The tire-inflating fitting has a tendency to hang up on the valve, allowing air to leak while disconnecting. Overall, the product is good and serves its purpose, but it's not great.

I thought this was a fairly good product after the first time I used it. Unfortunately a month later when I used it for only the second time, the plug practically crumbled in my hand when I was pulling it out of the power outlet in my car. The plug is now in 5 or 6 pieces and the unit useless because I had to use pliers to get the remaining pieces out of the outlet. I would love to return it, but it's been more than 30 days. I guess you get what you paid for.

I got the item in mail as promised... I tried testing it and it worked great... But when i tried pulling the cable out of the car it would not come out... the plastic plug broke apart and I had to use screw driver to break rest of the plug to remove it... good air compressor but horrible assembly on the cable... i would not recommend this to anyone!

the slowest compressor ever-slower than your bike pump,
This review is from: AAA 250 PSI 12 Volt 6 In 1 Air Compressor (Sports)
i thought purchasing and using this compressor would speed up the process of filling up bikes, car tires, inflateable things etc...
boy was i wrong!! it works so slow that i thought at first it is broken and does not work at all. only after i left for a few minutes i saw the needle move, but barely ... to give you an idea: my tire pressure was at 20 and it took this compressor almost 20(!) minutes to get it up to 30. with my handpump i can do that in about 2 min. this product is so bad, i actually will go back to my hand pump!!! shame on AAA for selling this!

One of our cars has a mystery slow leak in a tire. We purchased this just to get the tire up to proper psi every week at home instead of having to make the trip to a service station. So far it has worked perfectly, no complaints at all.

I used it the first time yesterday. The plug literally came apart INSIDE my 12V outlet. I had to use a pair of pliers to remove pieces of it. But there's a good chunk of it still lodged inside my 12V outlet that I can't get out. Now I can't plug my nav system in, this piece of junk is broken, and I'm probably going to have to spend $100 dollars to have the mechanic dislodge the bit of plastic and repair my outlet. I would, at the least, like my money back but I purchased it more than thirty days ago.

This pump is really slow. I've returned to using my hand bike pump (on my car tires) because it's easily as fast as this pump and a lot easier to take out and set up for pumping. And the attachment is clunky, so you lose air every time you detach it from the tire. If you're not an invalid, use a hand bike pump instead.

Though I've only used it on a vehicle, it hasn't been very effective thus far. It is very difficult to get the part connected to the valve on the tire off after you get done inflating the tire thus the air you put in comes out. There's got to be a better way of getting it off.

portable tire inflator,

We got two of these for the kid's Passats. They work prefectly well. If you use the compressor with the car engine running, they work faster. If the car is not running, they work reasonably quickly. We plan to only use them to "top off" the tires instead of stopping by the gas station (a real pain). For that purpose, they are perfect. If you plan to be inflating a really low tire (< 12 lbs), it may take awhile. Why only 4-stars? Because these compressors are sort of loud.

Compressor fails to inflate tire. The air is being directed out of the "raft inflator" outlet with no discernable way to redirect the outflow. The directions are worthless and there is no indication of who the real manufacturer is. I called AAA at the number on the enclosed marketing piece and they are clueless, too. Amazon's return policy only allows returns within the first 30 days, but I didn't try using this until 15 days later, so I will pay the postage and a 15-20% restocking fee.
