So I got them two days later (Amazon Prime). Figured 6 Gauge was strong enough for my SUV and 16' was long enough to reach the full length of the car so if I was in my driveway and it died, someone could pull up behind me and the cables would reach (by the way, for those who don't know much about cars, batteries, wiring or gauge, the lower the number, the better). First thing I noticed when I got them was that they are a nice fat gauge with a thick rubber coating. So far so good. But when I saw the cables were not as long as I thought they'd be I said, "crap!" But then I realized they hadn't been fully unfurled.Read more ›
So I bought this one from AAA instead. I am glad to say the clamps do close tightly (unlike the Cole's which leave a small gap in between). The quality is just as good as the other more expensive ones.
Very satisfied with this AAA booster cable.
Used these this past weekend for a car that was parked front in with two vehicles on either side. So, instead of pushing it out of the space, we were able to stretch the jumpers long enough to reach the battery.
Summary: Great cables, funny pronged tip, threw away the bag years ago...
The cables are long and heavy duty. The clamps have a wierd prong at the tip which would be great for smaller battery terminals, but get in the way a bit on a larger SUV battery. No big deal and glad they are there for getting around all the canbus wires on battery terminals these days.
The case does require some effort to fit the cables back into (new they are bundled the same size as the case), so now using a reusable type grocery bag stuffed under the back seat.
Long and heavy guage wire. Clamps look and feel sturdy, though we havent had to use em yet. Confident these will last as long as we need them to.
The case is handy, but seems a bit thin and not sure if we'll be able to get the cables back in without tearing the fabric or zipper after actual use.

The carrying case is nice, and the wires are 6 gauge which is enough to start a big rig. Crimps and clamps are of good quality. Read morePublished 13 days ago by Mason
