I just don't know where I should start because everything about this book is great. However, the content of this book and the practice exercises on the CD is worth the full price and more. Like the previous reviewer said, if you are on a budget and had to chose between the Book of Style for Medical Transcripton ( I have the most recent copy - 3rd edition) and this book, it is okay if you chose this because it has the content and practice materials. It goes hand in hand with the main book. The CD has sample documents and practice tests which includes transcribing parts of dictations from audio and checking your answers to see how well you did. Not to mention the many real life dictations on the CD which you can transcribe by yourself by looking at the example documents.

I am very happy with this book. I am a Certified Medical Coder and is presently teaching myself medical transcription until I am able to find time out of my very busy schedule for professional lecture by an instructor. I am also presently going to school for a degree in health information and I work full time. I say buy this book because you will never regret it. I actually have a few medical transcription books with audio CDs. A few of them do not have practice exercises other than recorded dictations, and there is no way I can tell if I had transcribed the dictations correctly because there is nothing to check. I just have to follow the format of the textbook, seeing that I am not going to school where there is an instructor to guide me, and hope it is correct.

However, the AAMT BOS Student Workbook comes with everything.The book also stated that the dictation excerpts, or snippets, on the CD are similar to those that you will be asked to transcribe on the RMT or CMT exam. With that said, I think this is a vital asset for those thinking about the medical transcription career like myself, and others who are already in the field.

I have also installed the CD on 2 computers with the help of their customer servce. You have to get what's called a response code from the books customer service for the second computer, before you can intall it. I was just happy to know that it could be installed on 2 computers as I actually have a laptop and a desktop. Hope you will find the book as useful and interesting as I do.

I am very pleased with this manual! If you are on a budget, this book makes sense to purchase instead of the main book, AAMT Book of Style. This workbook will certainly suffice!

This book is an excellent source of reference for the Medical Transcriptionist student. Amizon delivered the book in the timely fashion in which they promised. I have had no problems with the delivery of the item or the content of the book. This book is a "Must Have" !!!

This is an excellent reference guide as well as GREAT for those studying for the exam! I would recommend this for ALL MTs to have in their library. The AAMT Book of Style Student Workbook: Practical Application and Assessment

This has helped me much better than the BOS third edition. It is laid out well and is much more understandable, but it doesn't conform (naturally) to BOS-3, so that is a bummer. I don't know why a 3rd edition hasn't come out for the new BOS.

Even though it isn't up-to-date, I have still found it very understandable, easy to set up, and a great help at my beginning transcription. All I have to do is check the 3rd edition to see what differences there are (not quite as easy as it sounds). The CD is mainly what I bought it for and that is priceless.

If the Book of Style came out with a list of updates and a workbook, I would be all over it. As it is this is the next best thing.

This is a must-have if you are going to certify or recertify as an MT, RMT, or CMT. It goes right along with the chapters in the Book of Style, and there is a CD that you can use as well which covers the chapters from Chapter 6 and on.

If you are studying to be an MT, you need this book. It's half the size of the Book of Style as it pars the information down to just the basics. The
question section is great for testing yourself to see how well you know the information. A great companion to your BOS.

This used book was like new. The CD was included and had never been activated so I was able to use it. Shipping was fast. It will be a great help for brushing up on my job skills.

The AAMT Book of Style Workbook is absolutely great. Since medical transcription is like a different language, this book has just the right information to make learning abbreviations, proper measurements and classifications used in the medical field a lot easier. It's a great reference book and I'll surely be using this after school in the work field as a reference book for medical transcription.

I have never shopped online for a used book, but I took a chance at buying the book. The book was in better condition than I had imagined and the price was very acceptable. I was very pleased with my purchase, and if I see another book for sale by this company that interest me, I will not hesitate to purchase through them again.
