From School Library Journal
PreSchool-Grade 1-The alphabet is playfully brought to life by a multicultural cast of children. Stunning close-up photography shows preschoolers having fun, from balancing an "A apple" on a head to a face peeking through a jacket's "Z zipper." The key words, presented in lowercase, are commonplace and easily identifiable within each page. The crystal-clear photos are brimming with childlike energy and the poses are inventive. Expressions captured range from the tranquility of a sleeping girl sucking her thumb while taking an "N nap" to the exasperation of a boy with knots in the string of his "Y yo-yo." A kid-friendly, visual treat from A to Z.

This alphabet book uses photographs of real children to illustrate its text. A multiethnic cast of boys and girls demonstrate words associated with each letter in an exciting and energetic fashion. For the most part, the words chosen are uninspired.
A is for apple,
X is for X-ray,
E is for elephant. Some choices, though, are fun and surprising.
U is for underwear, and three young children with their backs to the camera pose in their underwear;
P is for popcorn, and a laughing redheaded sprite joyfully throws it in the air. The best thing about this cast is that they don't look like unrealistic, posed models. They all look like real children having fun by themselves and with friends.
