Disappointing,
By A Customer
This review is from: ABC United Airlines (Paperback)
A 100 page history of United should be better than this. This is a boring list of dates and facts with no commentary. United caused the 1987 stock market crash. It was a major supporter for deregulation in 1978. Some very colorful people worked there. None of this is here. For a much more interesting account, read "Hard Landing" by Thomas Petzinger. There are numerous pictures, mostly black and white, mostly of current models. Should have included more vintage aircraft. The small format of the book does not lend itself to impressive photos and airplanes in black and white don't do anything for me. Should have had fewer photos and more narrative. My copy had no wrong labels on airplanes and the ESOP is discussed on page 23. The only error was a reference twice to the 777's GE90 engines. United flies the PW4000 series engines, as is correctly indicated elsewhere in the book. My book is the 1998 reprint.

ITS JUST NOT WORTH IT!!!,
By LAbsolute7@aol.com (Washington, D.C.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: ABC United Airlines (Paperback)
Well, this book mistakes 777's for 727's, and 747's for 777's, so I would have to say that only buy this book if neccisary, for school projects and such. It has no mention of Shuttle, and even thouh it may be sad to say, they mention nothing abut the flaws, such as crashes and incedint! Overall, IT'S JUST NOT WORTH IT!!!

Book on United Airlines,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: ABC United Airlines (Paperback)
When I ordered the book, I thought it would be a regular sized book, but instead was a slim and small pocketbook. Frankly, I did NOT like the book, especially because I already knew most of the info the author poorly wrote about. To tell the truth, I was very disappointed with the book contents and, if I knew beforehand what the book was like, I would definitely NOT have ordered it.

A good reference book,
By A Customer
This review is from: ABC United Airlines (Paperback)
The ABC Book United Airlines is a fairly good reference book about the airline. There are some misprints on some of the equiptment and there is no information on Shuttle by United or the ESOP. But there is some good information on the carrier and the pictures are good. It might be something to keep for reference.

This review is from: ABC United Airlines (Paperback)
The book have made so much mistake and did not mention the ESOP and B777 very much, also United Shuttle and The largest Airlines in the world(ie United) But It did provide lot of good picture and history background, the price should be lower and all picture should be coloured.
